Mike Sawyer Breaks Helmet With Shot

The legend of Loyola alum and current Charlotte Hound Mike Sawyer continues to grow.

Sawyer tore it up at Loyola’s alumni game this weekend, and when he wasn’t scoring goals, he was terrifying goalies, and sometimes breaking their helmets. One of Loyola’s goalies took a Sawyer shot off the dome, and the shot actually cracked the shell of the helmet. Now THAT is some SERIOUS power!

Thanks to Craig Chase for sending these photos in, and since I’m sure you want proof that Sawyer actually cracked a helmet, here is the photo. 114 MPH will do that.

A bit blurry, but look closely.
