excellent question. not my most reasoned sentence.
I just mean LMU is still looking good, even with the losses to Mich, BYU and Santa Clara. Although the SC loss is a little troubling. Team can overcome that though. I think.

1) It is a head shot, plain and simple. I will give you he slightly dipped his shoulder before laying him out with his elbow. But he hit him in the HEAD, but since he lead with his shoulder its ok… watch it again do you really think he attempted to lay a clean hit.
2) Everyone who is saying he should keep his head up… really?? His head was up it was looking at the ball, Card hit him in the side of the head.
3) The Stevenson video was a joke

I have to agree on this one, he is leading with his shoulder and I think the reason its a headshot is because the guy has his head down…I feel bad for the kid, but I saw a lot more disgraceful hits in that Stevenson “highlight” video (looked more like a video of penalties)

Further more, the NCAA should take the tape of all head shots and use them for training purposes. This should not have been a two minute, and there have been some 1 min and uncalled hits that should have been. If they are serious about stopping these hits they cannot wait until the end of the season to re-evaluate and educate the referees and coaches.

How many yards from the restraining box to the half line? Card flat out ran him. It doesnt matter if you think he led with his shoulder he went head high, shoulder, elbow or helmet it was a head shot and nothing about that is ok.

Somewhere along the line someone needs to be thrown, and I hate to sound like I am picking on Card, but this is exactly the type of hit that should break the ice, he charged this kid and made no attempt to put a clean hit on him. This should be an automatic expulsion and since there was no expulsion it should go under review by the NCAA and some sort of action should be taken.

I’m not sure I agree that the hit was disgraceful. It looks to me like he led with his shoulder and the play happened so fast that I might give him a pass and say that he hit him higher than he intended. Your analysis about his reaction was right on the money though. He acted like a complete douche. How about, at the very least, feigning concern when the guy you just hit in the head is clearly unconscious? The other thing is that it looks like there was no possession, but the ref makes a half-assed release signal.

to switch gears though… Seriously Stevenson? I get the whole highlight reel thing, Save it for an actual GAME though. I could make a video where I continuously punch an infant from different angles and put it to hip hop but it doesn’t mean I should. If they do this against Tufts, Cortland or the Gulls I’ll change my tune.

Me thinks a team in MD is high off themselves. Props where props is due but save this garbage till after you have the hardware in may.
