NLL Previews And Predictions: Week 10

There was a real interesting shakedown in week 9 of the NLL season. Buffalo managed to take down Toronto, the top team in the East Division. Then Buffalo proceeded to get upset by Philadelphia, the following night. Buffalo is now sitting in 3rd place behind Philly and Toronto is the East Division. Meanwhile, Rochester managed to scrape by the struggling Colorado Mammoth squad.

Washington topped the Minnesota Swarm, and managed to sneak past Calgary to sit atop the Western Division standings. Edmonton had a huge win over Calgary to get to 5-5 on the season. Both teams now sit 1 game back from Washington in the Western Division, and both teams have 5-5 records. Edmonton has been coming on strong as of late, and Calgary is hitting some mid-season speed bumps.

  • Colorado Mammoth @ Toronto Rock

Connor Wilson –  Toronto Rock “I like Toronto at home, but this one could be close. I’m thinking the Rock take it 11-10“.

Chris Rosenthall – Toronto Rock “Nope. Not this week, Mammoth. I’m not picking you guys until you win. And definitely not in Toronto”.

Ryan Connors – Toronto Rock “It is so hard to believe that Colorado has only won 2 games.  You can’t pick a team that is struggling that hard…but then again…watch Colorado go 2-0 this week because that is how the NLL has been going so far“.

  • Minnesota Swarm @ Calgary Roughnecks

Connor Wilson – Calgary Roughnecks “I’ve been picking Minny a lot lately, but I still like Calgary a bit more this year. They’re tough and relentless and that wins games“.

Chris Rosenthall – Calgary Roughnecks “The Roughnecks defense is falling apart, but the Swarm offense hasn’t been putting up goals lately. I think it’ll be high-scoring, but Calgary wins it“.

Ryan Connors – Calgary Roughnecks “Calgary is going to want to bounce back from their loss last weekend“.

  • Colorado Mammoth @ Buffalo Bandits

Connor Wilson – Colorado Mammoth “The travel isn’t too long and the loss on Friday that I’ve predicted should push them to top the Bandits“.

Chris Rosenthall – Buffalo Bandits “Still nope. Not this week, Mammoth. You guys are killing my average. Which, by the way, is plenty terrible on it’s own, thanks“.

Ryan Connors – Buffalo Bandits “They’ve been playing much better lacrosse and they have the offense to match Colorado’s.  Expect this game to be a high-scoring affair“.

  • Washington Stealth @ Philadelphia Wings

Connor Wilson – Philadelphia Wings “I still like the Wings, at least when they play their athletic game. There should be a good crowd on hand and the Wings should show up and put on a show, grinding their way to a win“.

Chris Rosenthall – Philadelphia Wings “This is a tough one. Washington’s won back to back games, Philly’s on a three game streak. Pretty sure the Wings lose every time I pick them, but I’ll try picking them once more. I mean, Rabil’s got back to back hat tricks – that’s got to count for something“.

Ryan Connors – Washington Stealth “This game is going to be the best game of the week and it kills me that I won’t be able to watch it!  I might have to watch it later on YouTube, but that means staying off social media for nearly an entire day, I don’t know if I’m capable.  Philly squad is playing with something to prove and you don’t want to run into a team like that.  On the other side, Washington has arguably the best goalie in the league and Athan Iannucci is on a serious scoring streak.  Close close game“.

Correct Picks Running Tally:

Chris Rosenthall (14-27)
