Mike Perrino plays lacrosse at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, and in his spare time, he has started to edit together highlight videos. Mike took some absolutely unreal shots from the last couple of college seasons and threw them together in the above video. I think every goal in the video is at least a 9 out of 10.
The LXM ATS (Lacrosse x Movement Tournament Series) enjoyed some fantastic weather in California’s capital city, and fans were treated to an exciting game, where Team STX topped Maverik United 12-10. The week before, STX had won 20-19 in Utah, and it was interesting to see the two teams play such different games.
How can lacrosse players ensure that they are improving and keeping up with top national level lax talent, even if their local barometer is a little cloudy? It’s all about challenging yourself!
Team USA Blue took on Loyola at 2pm on Saturday as part of the Play for Parkinson’s event in Alexandria, VA. Loyola also scrimmaged against Georgetown, and we have photos from that fall game as well. Photo gallery by Craig Chase!
The Warrior Dolomite 13 shaft is one of the lightest shafts on the market right now. Designed to provide players with maximum performance without the weight of heavier metal blends, this shaft is both sturdy and good looking.
We caught up with Greg Gurnelian and crew earlier this Summer at one of his Face Off Academy clinics in New Jersey, and later asked him some questions about the art of facing off, why he started the FOA, and what he thinks about the future of specialization at the collegiate level.
A Long Island middle school has banned “footballs, baseballs, lacrosse balls, or anything that might hurt someone on school grounds” during recess, and of course the issue is pedantically being painted in black and white, where the sides are lining up, diametrically opposed, and making their myopic, stultifying cases.
Mike Brand is back on LAS with another killer Summer Photos post. Mike has been traversing the country, and taking in a ton of lacrosse, and now he’s sharing that experience with us. Links to check out Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 from last week inside.
For the past two years, the Brooklyn Brawl lacrosse tournament has been held in Brooklyn. Now that the one day tourney is expanding, and moving indoors (November 2nd can be cold!), the event has moved West across a couple of rivers, and will be held in Randolph, New Jersey, at the Indoor Sport Pavilion.
Last week we shared some photos from the Loyola lacrosse alumni games, and one photo in particular stood out to me. It made such an impression that I thought it needed its own post, and its own caption.
We love learning about new tournaments, or places where the game is growing, and Belgrade, Serbia seems to fit that mold pretty nicely. The game seems to be taking off in the Balkans, and Ivan Negrojević sent over the below info to help us all stay up to date on the progress being made in Serbia and beyond.
Tipster Sergey Baklykov sent us an email letting us know about an awesome custom cleat maker that he found on Instagram. The user, mache275, designed these Huarache 3 cleats with Colts logos for Indianapolis player Greg Toler.
Our man Fritts is back with another stellar installment of Music Monday.
This week’s Music Monday focuses on an artist that is living in the shadows. Kendrick Lamar has virtually become a household name after the success of his highly acclaimed album good kid, m.A.A.d. city, and his now infamous “Control” verse. Kendrick, formerly known as K. Dot, is a member of Black Hippy, a group comprised of ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Ab-Soul, all of which are on the indie label Top Dawg Entertainment. While many people are tuned into Kendrick, the talented Ab-Soul aka “The Black Lip Pastor” is easily overlooked.
The University of Vermont invited Bishop’s University down from Canada for a fall ball game that took place on UVM’s homecoming weekend. Bishop’s is located in Lennoxville, Quebec, and is a member of CUFLA (the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association). It is about 2 and a half hours from Lennoxville to Burlington, VT.
A couple weekends ago we were lucky enough to make it down to LXM 801 in Orem, UT. I caught a peek of Matt Russell and Johnny Rodriguez’s goalie clinic and I noticed something a little different about Matt’s pocket. One of the high school guys, focused on the lesson, pulled Matt aside when he was done talking to the group. He had almost the same stick, but Matt’s pocket was anywhere from 3 to 6 inches deeper. For Matt…
Sunday was cloudy and a little bit misty in New York City, but that didn’t stop the die hard players in ULAX’s fall ball league from going out and giving it their best… or at least the best they could manage on a Sunday morning. We got a couple of dive shot attempts, and an almost goalie goal!
Chris Rosenthall went down to Alexandria, VA after my weekend box game to check out the Team USA fall scrimmages at the Play for Parkinson’s event, and got to catch up with Kevin Cassese, a Team USA assistant, and Kyle Hartzell, a Team USA hopeful! Check out what the insiders had to say about the recent try out scrimmages!
Craig Chase took in the recent Loyola – Georgetown scrimmage, and came away with a ton of great photos of both the Hounds and Hoyas. Loyola took on Gtown at noon this past Saturday at the Play For Parkinson’s Event in Alexandria, VA. Right after this scrimmage, the Hounds took on Team USA Blue.
LAS Nation, Someone out there has been putting in the work, have you? Our boy Max Murret hit up the tip line , showing off what he has had going on in the backyard. All Star weekend I showed you the “home run”, and Max knocked it out of the park, or did he? It takes lacrosse to make baseball look cool. Thanks Max for putting your soft hands to work, I want the rest of you to get practicing…
