The University of Vermont invited Bishop’s University down from Canada for a fall ball game that took place on UVM’s homecoming weekend. Bishop’s is located in Lennoxville, Quebec, and is a member of CUFLA (the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association). It is about 2 and a half hours from Lennoxville to Burlington, VT.
A couple weekends ago we were lucky enough to make it down to LXM 801 in Orem, UT. I caught a peek of Matt Russell and Johnny Rodriguez’s goalie clinic and I noticed something a little different about Matt’s pocket. One of the high school guys, focused on the lesson, pulled Matt aside when he was done talking to the group. He had almost the same stick, but Matt’s pocket was anywhere from 3 to 6 inches deeper. For Matt…
Sunday was cloudy and a little bit misty in New York City, but that didn’t stop the die hard players in ULAX’s fall ball league from going out and giving it their best… or at least the best they could manage on a Sunday morning. We got a couple of dive shot attempts, and an almost goalie goal!
Chris Rosenthall went down to Alexandria, VA after my weekend box game to check out the Team USA fall scrimmages at the Play for Parkinson’s event, and got to catch up with Kevin Cassese, a Team USA assistant, and Kyle Hartzell, a Team USA hopeful! Check out what the insiders had to say about the recent try out scrimmages!
Craig Chase took in the recent Loyola – Georgetown scrimmage, and came away with a ton of great photos of both the Hounds and Hoyas. Loyola took on Gtown at noon this past Saturday at the Play For Parkinson’s Event in Alexandria, VA. Right after this scrimmage, the Hounds took on Team USA Blue.
LAS Nation, Someone out there has been putting in the work, have you? Our boy Max Murret hit up the tip line , showing off what he has had going on in the backyard. All Star weekend I showed you the “home run”, and Max knocked it out of the park, or did he? It takes lacrosse to make baseball look cool. Thanks Max for putting your soft hands to work, I want the rest of you to get practicing…
Only a couple of months after releasing their new and improved Gen4 shafts, Epoch is now getting set to also release their Gen5 shafts onto the market. The Gen4 shafts were lighter than the Gen3 shafts, and had a slightly different look. The Gen5 shafts take things a bit further, and offer Reload Technology that helps the shaft snap back into shape.
The STX Proton Power has been a classic ever since Paul Rabil rocked the blue, black and white versions of the head at Hopkins. While it was designed to score, this head can do it all.
This week’s Forum Friday is awesome. So much of what we discuss as lacrosse players, especially in the LAS Community Forums, revolves around stringing. So why wouldn’t we want to get to know each other…through our stringing!
Lacrosse in Missouri is definitely growing, but it has a long way to go before it’s considered a hot bed of recruitable D1 lacrosse talent. At this point in the state’s development, the above is to be expected, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t ANY D1 level talent in the state! To prove you wrong, I’d like you to meet Alex Bean.
The Lacrosse Show is BACK! Connor Wilson and Mark Powers run through five different lacrosse stories together, and then the two finish up the show with an interview featuring the NLL’s #1 Draft Pick, Logan Schuss!
I found this older lacrosse ball a while back, and it was a truly great find. I was running a camp, and doing a ball hunt, and I thought I’d found just another lost nugget at first. Then I pulled it out from under the bleachers, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was totally weird!
Check out this article for an opportunity to play, and coach, for Melbourne Lacrosse! I went to Australia to play and coach in 2001, and it was an amazing experience… one I would highly recommend if you love lacrosse, life, travel, and meeting great new people!
Welcome to Throwback Thursday! Corey Robert sent in this great video featuring some high school lacrosse in New Jersey from 1975! Corey’s dad was the goalie for Boonton in the above game where they played Montclair from the State Championship. Montclair won in 1975, and Boonton took the title in 1976, with Mr. Robert still in goal.
Shendelle Oliver returns to LAS to bring us a great update and photos from Grand Final Day in Western Australia! It was a muddy affair, but the teams all brought their best efforts in hopes of taking home the WA Premierships!

Chazz Woodson, and a group of trusted friends, have been working on the Sankofa Lacrosse Alliance for some time now, and their first event is just around the corner. On October 25th, the SLA’s elite team of black lacrosse players, The Ambassadors, will take on Brown and the English National Team in a scrimmage in Providence, Rhode Island, and we’ll be there! We wanted to sit down with Chazz to learn more about this game, but also the Sankofa Lacrosse Alliance!
The Government Shutdown: Almost a million employees have been put on furlough or will be paid at a later date, federal parks have shut down, and passport delays are imminent. On a less national scale, the US Service Academies are suspending athletics on campus, and this obviously impacts lacrosse in a major way.
Please welcome Piotr Stalmach back to LAS! Piotr has show off a couple of innovative top strings for us in the past, and now he’s updating us all on the Polish Lacrosse League season, which started up three weeks ago!
Brian Langtry is a really good lacrosse player. Getting there definitely took tons of training, including hours and hours on the wall. And sometimes, not the wall.
