I’ve gone over to Prague for the Ales Hrebesky Memorial the last two years, and as you’ve seen from our coverage, it’s an amazing event! But this year, LAS and I are looking to step up the Grow The Game effort in Europe, and we’re hoping to get some fellow American and Canadian players on board.
A few weekends ago, the Adrenaline High Rollers: SoCal recruiting event took place at Orange Coast College. Our friends at MaxLaxOC attended the event and put together two awesome videos, including a video of the High School All-Star game.
As I was making my way across the internet news scene this morning, I came across the most discouraging and tragic story I have encountered in a long while. It involves lacrosse at a low level, but on a much larger scale, it tells a darker story of America, where success in the face of adversity can be wiped away in a flash by a random act of violence.
Since we’re in the middle of Hanukkah, it seemed like a good time to share one of Israel Lacrosse’s photos for Photo of the Week! Here we have some brand new players in Ashkelon, an Israeli city that is home to the Israel Lacrosse Association (ILA) and is the sister city of Baltimore.
We have seen A LOT of Huarache spottings in the NFL this season. Many of them that we’ve pointed out have been courtesy of tips from reader Sergey Baklykov, and this one is no different. Here we have our first Pittsburgh Steeler player spotted in Huaraches, and it’s Emmanuel Sanders.
It was my first time fixing up a woodie, but the stick came out great, and throws on a dime. It was so nice that I convinced myself I could shoot a skeet pigeon out of the air… I did come pretty close!
The first lacrosse-only retail store has opened up in New York City, and I made the trip into Manhattan last week to check it out in person. Apple Lacrosse is located at 147 W35th Street, on the fourth floor, and while the upstairs location may seem a bit weird to non-New Yorkers, for those of us that live in the City, it makes a lot of sense.
The USLL has announced it’s first franchise in league history. The Maine Moose Trax will be playing out of the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine starting in the fall of 2014.
UCLA Men’s Lacrosse is pleased to welcome two new assistant coaches to Westwood for the 2013-2014 academic year: George Buckley (Duke ’05) and Matt Gibson (Yale ’12). Buckley, a four-time letter winner at Duke, will coach the UCLA defense. Gibson, a two-time First Team All-American at Yale and the 2012 Rookie of the Year in Major League Lacrosse, will coach the Bruins’ offense.
Hot and fresh out the kitchen! Yes, it’s that time of the week again. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and start to Hanukkah. Since I’m sure all of you were remixing your Thanksgiving dinners into leftover sandwiches and stews all weekend, I figured it was a great week to bring you some chopped up and revamped versions of recent hip hop songs, starting with none other than our beloved JT. Justin Timberlake – “TKO (Black Friday Remix)” Featuring Pusha-T, J….

Justin Scott aka Big K.R.I.T. is a rapper/producer hailing from Meridian, Mississippi. A member of the 2011 XXL Freshmen class, K.R.I.T. brings the flavor of the South along with passion and plenty of bass. One of my favorite quotes by K.R.I.T. is “If it don’t touch my SOUL, I can’t listen to it.” In other words, why bother listening to empty music with no message? Take a listen and be sure to turn up that sub!
LaxAllStars.com, led by Billy Nguyen, Joe Barile, John Ray, and Justin Otto moved to 2-0 with a tight 11-10 win over Rudy Martinez’ Brooklyn Dodgers squad. John Grant, Jr., is one of the best Canadian lacrosse players of all time, not to mention one of the best lacrosse players of all time period. But did you know he recently gained American citizenship? What does this mean for his Thanksgiving plans? Canadian Thanksgiving is in October, which means it already happened. Does that mean he gets double the turkey and pumpkin pie?
