The Six Nations Chiefs won a pivotal Game 4 on Vancouver Island last night over the Victoria Shamrocks 8-3. The win tied the best of seven series at two gams apiece, and the five goal winning margin is the largest one we’ve seen in the four games so far. It looked like it was going to be another super tight game after a 2-2 first period, but Six Nations came out hot in the second, and pulled away.
Someone recently posed this question to me: Are there national lacrosse brands? This question was asked in reference to club programs, specifically high school club teams, rather than to “brands” in the sense of gear manufacturers. So, are there “national lacrosse brands,” and if so, are they better than local club teams?
Steele Stanwick, Chris Bocklet, and Brendan Mundorf each posted pretty remarkable numbers and seasons in 2013. The three attackmen each put up some highlight reel goals, assists, and plays as well and the MLL has created short highlight videos featuring Stanwick, Bocklet, and Mundorf. Now we KNOW that all of these guys are legit ballers, but who is the BEST of the best?

This week’s spotting comes via the tip line from reader Sergey Baklykov, who spotted this boy holding a lacrosse stick in the TV show NCIS. The spotting is of the 200th episode of the show NCIS, which occurred on the Episode 14 of Season 9. The show is now on its 11th season.
Major League Lacrosse’s 2013 Championship Weekend looks like it was the last of its kind. Moving forward, higher seeded MLL teams will host playoff games, with a single championship game being played at a predetermined location. We probably won’t see semifinals and finals all wrapped up into one big weekend, so this is the LAST Top 10 from MLL Championship Weekend ever.

Randy Fraser was playing for the Boston Blazers in the 1990s, and when I found the above footage of a CRAZY MILL box lacrosse brawl, I knew I needed to get Randy’s take on the video. Editor’s Note: “Lacrosse” and “Chile” have never been two words that are often used together. An incredibly diverse country full of generous and interesting people, Chile is home to numerous world-famous natural wonders and distinctive landscapes. The nation also possesses a tumultuous political history, and it deals with devastating earthquakes. At first glance, it may seem that Chile has everything besides lacrosse… but that’s slowly starting to change. My name is Joel Berdie, I am a third year undergrad student at…

Peter Carey put up a video on YouTube featuring Chris Bocklet and Steele Stanwick talking about shooting and scoring goals, and it’s time to listen up, because these guys are two of the better shooters and scorers to ever come out of Virginia! Bocklet tells a great story about being forced to re-learn proper mechanics once he got to college, and Steele like to pretend his stick is a paint brush… why? It’s all about painting pipes!
The Six Nations Chiefs won Game 2 of the Mann Cup last night, 10-8, over the Victoria Shamrocks, and that evens the series at one win apiece, as the Shamrocks took Game 1 in a low-scoring 5-4 win. The two teams are starting to figure each other out a bit more, and the offensive production saw a marked increase. With some much offensive talent on the floor, it was only a matter of time!
