Reader Jarred sent in this week’s spotting of a lacrosse stick in a Brand Saver coupon book! I wonder if there’s a good coupon that Warrior Cobra on the cover?
A life hack refers to any tip or trick that helps get things done quickly by automating, increasing productivity, organizing, or saving time. Here at LAS we’ve come up with some Lax Hacks that can save you some frustration and allow more time for other things.
This week’s stick trick is inspired by, none other than the master himself, Matt Gibson. I saw him do this trick in the UCLA video and thought it would be perfect for this week.
It’s been over a year since the passing of All Star Goalie Chris Sanderson, but the impact he left on this earth and more specifically, our community has remained.
The best week of the year, other than championship weekend, is upon us. Yes, you are correct, Shark Week! This week is all about giant swimming, eating, and killing machines that are sharks!
It’s the final weekend of the regular season, and three out of four playoff seedings are still up in the air. Who can take which spot, and which spot do they want? We’re not talking practice, we’re talking PLAYOFFS!
This week a discussion has been taking place about whether or not player size determines ability or potential. While overall the sentiment seems to be that if you work hard it doesn’t matter, some people seem to think that it DOES affect the recruiting process.
Jake Tripucka, of the Charlotte Hounds, shares his story about his journey from high school to college, and into Major League Lacrosse.
Who will be the next D1 men’s lacrosse team? It’s a question the entire lacrosse community has asked time and time again. When a new team is added, it tends to fuel the conversation. Brian Conlon, of LaxKingsTV, is back on LAS with his argument on why one of FOUR teams will be the next to go D1!
After this last weekend’s MLL games, a knowledgeable little bird hit me up on Twitter, and told me to look closely at the Denver – New York highlights. Someone in the MLL might be using a pull string!
Last week’s Traditional Thursday saw Connor Wilson’s take on Jeremy Thompson’s one-twist pita pocket. This week, I bring to you a throwback with my take on Jeremy Thompson’s pocket. When I strung this pocket up earlier this summer, I actually had no idea that Jeremy Thompson was using a similar set up. In fact, I had no idea who Jeremy Thompson even was (just kidding, obviously).
When it comes to top level defensive recruits, it often seems like the junk throwing, slap check happy, risk taker is a thing of the past. Most of these top level recruits are athletic and tough position guys, who have great feet and excellent size… but every once in a while we get a throwback, and I’m thinking Michael Moriyama fits that mold pretty nicely.
Today, at 2PM ET, LaxAllStars will be hosting a LIVE Google Hangout on the subject of stringing, traditional, mesh, and how it can all impact your game! A good number of the #LASNation is either heading up to Lake Placid today, or already up there. The Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse Classic is THE Upstate New York lacrosse event of the Summer, and we’ll be bringing you updates if you’re not fortunate enough to be there yourself.
Heeyoung Leem, one of the FOGOs on the Team TLN team I played on last weekend, rocked a GoPro in some of our games and got some great footage. The camera falls off right away in the first game, and is picked up by the ref – all hilariously caught on camera. Hee strapped on the GoPro for another game and caught footage of our warmups and some of the game.
There were multiple Tweet of the Week nominees this week. I thought I had picked a winner twice before I got to this gem, so I thought it would be fair to link Rosie’s guac-filled tweet about The Lacrosse Network’s MLL Hangout and the Bucket Helmet’s keen MLL observation. The winner, though, goes to one of the best tweeters in the game, and he speaks the truth.

Kliff Kingsbury is now the youngest coach in the BCS, at only 33 years of age. He was the offensive coordinator at Texas A&M last year, and helped propel Johnny Manziel to a Heisman worthy season, so trusting his knowledge and approach should be a little easier, even if you’re an age-ist.
The Chesapeake Bayhawks have clinched a playoff berth with one week left in the season, keeping them in the hunt for the first back to back MLL Championship since the Philadelphia Barrage. Story by Chuck Richardson.
Caelahn Bullen isn’t the biggest goalie in the world. but he definitely impressed me with his positioning, as well as his ability to react to shots from in close. I’ll let you decide if you think his game is on point or not (I think it is), but there are a couple of other points about this young prospect that make me think of him as a winner…
