Winning gear at lacrosse camps is pretty awesome. This LAS Community member did just that, except he doesn’t know what team these custom Brine King IV gloves are from. Have you seen them before?
StringKing interviewed CJ Costabille on their blog recently, and they touched on a number of different and interesting topics. They also asked CJ for his thoughts on recruiting, and choosing a college, and sent his doozy of an answer over to us, because they knew we’d want to share it!
Our brethren up in Washington needs your help! The following letter was passed along to us asking for any help they can get. Let’s show them what we got. Nike has already donated sticks, but they still need everything else. Let’s help a family in need.
Last week when we talked about STX’s new K18 microsite, we introduced you to the real Kyle Harrison. Or did we? K18 has something else up his internet-sleeve, and it’s his own, non-STX sponsored, professional website. Get ready to know Kyle Harrison on a whole ‘nother level.
In partnership with Cascade and Maverik Lacrosse, LaxAllStars.com is excited to announce a lacrosse helmet design contest centered around something that is close to our hearts. Prior to founding Lacrosse All Stars, Jeff Brunelle and Ryan Craven both played in the MCLA, a league that is made up entirely of collegiate student athletes who pay to play.
The 2013 Las Vegas Lacrosse Showcase went down last weekend in Sin City, and I was there with UCLA competing in the Best of the West collegiate division. I was able to snap some photos of play in all divisions, though, and here are some of the best!
Ben DeLuca was dismissed as the Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Cornell University today. The school issued an ambiguous statement thanking DeLuca for his work (he was there for over ten years as a player and coach), and stating that the program needed new leadership. They then promoted assistant coach Matt Kerwick.
The Iroquois were voted back into the Blue Division for the 2014 World Championships in Denver, but now it looks like Germany may be getting knocked out of the top division to make room for the Nationals. The matter is up for a vote this month by the FIL member nations.
More great break-in advice from Greg Rose: The initial advice on breaking in the pocket is to make sure all the crosslace junctions secure around the leather and keep the diamonds even. To make sure of this, keep a careful eye on the diamonds as it breaks in and use your finger to scoot the junction back into an equalizing position if it shifts….
So technically this is a Salt Shakerz Instagram post, but I saw it on their Twitter, so it still counts. In some downtime at the Las Vegas Lacrosse Showcase, this Shaker got his juggling game going!
You may have seen photos, or heard how Typhoon Yolanda has hit the Philippines extremely hard. It was a massive storm, and did untold damage to the island nation. The Philippines Lacrosse Association, a group of mainly American born lacrosse players of Filipino descent, hoping to help the sport take off in their home country, is now getting involved to help out. We spoke with Ron Garcia of the PLA to get more information on what they are doing, and how you can help out.
For 19 consecutive seasons Tom Rotanz has been the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach at Shoreham-Wading River High School on Long Island. An SWR school board meeting on Tuesday night revealed that Rotanz would not retain his job as the coach of the team, and what had been an ugly situation set to brew, is quickly becoming a steaming hot pot of disaster for people on both sides of the debate.

It looks like Team STX has started too pull away from Maverik United. The two teams squared off Saturday in Dallas, and the game finished much closer than when it started, 10-9. Check out the full recap of the game here!
The waves crashing in multiple locations is pretty epic, and the bird eating a fish out of guy’s hand on the beach mid-flight is pretty darn cool. Pumped I got that on video! I even brought two mini-sticks with me to PR, which I had picked up from Throne of String a couple of days before. Always getting a little wall ball in. No excuses!
No more air bubbles in my athletic shoes. I’m tired of popping Nike Air bubbles. 9 times out of 10 the bubbles pop before I wear the shoes out. Sure, it looks cool and feels good early on, but it’s not worth it if I have to shell out extra money for the bubbles and then have to also buy shoes more often. Good for Nike, but bad for me. Air Bubbles are done for this guy.
Playing lacrosse in north Idaho, the weather comes in to play a lot during both the fall and spring season. I would always blame a bad pass on the weather or my bagged out mesh. The best solution I have found to extreme weather conditions is, wax mesh. If you want the best performance out of your wax mesh, East Coast Dyes is what you are looking for.
