1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 

21 consecutive regional championship and a win streak of 59-0 mixed in there as well.  This program has produced some of the finest in lacrosse talent over the past 20 plus years.  Many were made champions here and respect and cherish the program deeply.  To see the program in jeopardy is sad to say the least.  Hopefully the school can take a moment to recount the storied history and give the program a chance to regroup and rebuild by actively interviewing and searching for a leader.  The school owes it to themselves and the alumni to get this right.

My one exception with it is to sat that, ” they were THE Juco before NCC and OCC took over the title” is a bit of a stretch. OCC has come on the scene relatively recently but Nassau had won 14 championships before Herkimer won their first.

OCC and MCC have been the death of Herk. I don’t know if this is 100% true anymore but there weren’t any high schools that played lacrosse in Herkimer County. The same obviously can’t be said about Monroe and Onondaga. In fact that is where most of the best upstate HS lacrosse is being played. If I am a kid who is going to play juco you can bet I am not going to middle of nowhere Herk.

Wearing some Herk gear in summer league used to carry some cache. Now people wonder why you didn’t go to OCC or MCC.
