Im having a hard time understanding why Schommy is so upset about getting rid of the moto grip when theres 20+ videos on his faceoff camps website showing kids using a regular grip and him teaching how to grab the ball!!! he even named the move

Taking away the tape from touching the head WILL prevent more kids from grabbing the plastic. if they aren't allowed to grab the head then why do they need to tape it?

making the case for it being unfair that each company makes heads with different throats is stupid and if it concerns a kid that much he is 100% able to buy his own stick

I agree that putting the sticks 12 inches apart is extreme and will cause faceoff guys to act more like a football player in a three point stance. The change from 4to 12 is way to big why not 6inches?

it will separate the faceoff men enough but not eliminate the clamp or pinch and pop it will truly be a test of hand speed

There is also a video of his site that shows how the moto grip does not allow an opponents stick to move in other words 2 moto guys going at it punching into the back of one anothers stick IS the reason for all the tie ups. a clamp between 2 regular grip guys cannot last as long as one between moto guys. because its impossible to move your hand into the back of the other mans stick in that fashion.

My main problem with these changes is that the faceoff did not seem like the thing that needed change...the only thing I needed to see changed was when there was a violation and the violater would fling the ball away to negate the advantage...I think the violater should have to stand at the X until the ball is put back into play, then run off
