This move is absolutely huge.
I think this presents an opportunity to form a southern conference with regional teams currently competing as independents or as associate members in other conferences: Furman, Jacksonville, VMI, Mercer, and High Point. Richmond makes six; six makes an AQ possible. A regional league would help with travel costs and overall development. It could also inspire others in the region to add the sport via its AQ and travel.
It's conceivable that a scheduling arrangement could be made with a stronger league in the same region (ahem*ACC*ahem) to be early season cupcake games, a la football. Such a move would help bring fans out to see the Big Boys as well as draw recruits who would relish the fact that their school plays x number of games versus ACC opponents annually.
