WINNER UPDATE: Contest Time: Greatest Rivalry EVER

Maybach-contest

WINNER, WINNER!

Well folks, it didn’t appear that many of you wanted that new pair of Maybach Deuces from Maverik !?!

We extended the deadline, but the entries still didn’t blow us away, except for one.

The best part of the winner’s answers is the fact he competes for a completely different high school in the same region. The kids clearly has respect for quality and competitive rivalries. For that, selvage12 from Boise, ID won himself a new pair of mitts!

Disclaimer: One of the winning rivalry schools is LaxAllStars’ founder Jeff Brunelle’s alma mater. That didn’t effect the contest at all, as I picked the winner and I’m from Ohio. I’d like to think I’m unbiased. Plus, my top high school rivalry goes to Moeller vs. St. Xavier in Cincinnati, but that’s me!

Here is the winning submission:

Winner: selvage12

Greatest Rivalry: Bishop Kelly (ID) vs Mt. View (ID)

Level: High School

Why: This rivalry is between two of the most talented programs in Idaho. In the last three years, the two have played each other in the state playoffs. In 2012, Mt. View lost to BK in the quarter finals after both had near perfect seasons.

In the 2013, BK and Mt. View met in the district final game where Mt. View won 7-3. This year, they are ready to meet for the second time, after Mt. View won their last meeting.

This is most definitely rivalry of the week in the state of Idaho, if not the whole west coast!

We Agree!

Congratulations selvage12, your submission was our favorite entry for the Greatest Rivalry EVER contest!

Just send us your mailing information and we will send you the gloves!

Don’t forget, there’s a RIPWOOD shaft still up for grabs!

  • University of Washington vs. University of Oregon many football rivalries carry on into other sports and i think this is no exception for their lacrosse programs.

  • Bishop Kelly(ID) vs Mt. View (ID)

  • Belen Jesuit (FL) and Christopher Columbus (FL). These are both high schools on South Florida, in Miami Dade. These are the biggest rivals in all of Florida in every sport. Both of these teams despise each other. It adds fuel to the fire that Columbus knocked Belen out of the district playoffs this year. There is BAD blood between these two teams.
