Regarding your suggestion that we should support “some of the lesser cancers” instead— did you really write that?!?!? We’re taking about charity here. I’m sure you feel stupid enough re-reading that statement, so any response I give will not serve a good purpose.

We readily acknowledge that there are other cancers that affect young men in much greater numbers than breast cancer, and those cancers are probably more applicable for a men’s lacrosse club to support, but as I stated before, we adopted this cause because we’re personally tied to it.

We haven’t always worn pink. When the club was first formed, our jerseys changed all the time and there was no consistent theme or color (other than the Shaker)— like most club teams’ uniforms. One day, CJ and I just happened to be talking about our experiences with the disease and we decided that it would be cool to bring awareness and raise money for the cause by incorporating pink into our jerseys. The first time we incorporated it into the uniform was at the Ocean City tournament. We think that it has been a successful effort so far and it is something we plan to continue for the foreseeable future.

Hopefully we’ll eventually win your support as well.
