Hey Dan...no, I wasn't there..I had taken a brief hiatus from lax at that time, for reasons I still don't understand. But what's funny is that the article seems to suggest that Texas Lax was in its infancy in 1998...in actuality, some of the first games in Texas were played in Houston in 1974 and I was in fact there. There were only three teams at the time that I know of..Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. NOLC, which was actually Tulane Lacrosse Club at the time, made a trip over there and ran the table. That was where I first met the unforgettable Earl Bill who recently passed(see the FB group "Those Who Played for Earl").
In 1975, the first Fiesta Tournament was played in San Antonio..Tulane won it that year and the next two after that, at which point we were no longer invited. It was only a four-team tourney. Texas Lacrosse grew rapidly from the mid-70's on...last I heard many years ago there were well over 50 high school teams.

Boom goes the dynamite illustrates why I run my voiceovers through Soundcut pro before they go up on Youtube. I guess lacrosse has made progress even in Texas since those new casts were done.
