Shin guards were for the women&#039;s goalies.  They were Brine&#039;s response to 
the huge field hockey looking ones that companies like Cranbarry sold 
(see link).



The SP1&#039;s were terrible though.  It was hard plastic dipped in foam that felt like wearing a toilet seat on your collar bone.

		<description><![CDATA[This is an awsome find by Reg Hartner who as you said is a must follow on twitter. The thing that intrigues me the most is what looks like shin guards for goalies. I don&#039;t remember any goalies ever wearing shin guards. Anyone ever seen that?
