to compare the other guys having half an inch of their glove on the bottom of the plastic (which gives no advantage) with MaxQ blocking the THROAT off is showing a willful ignorance. I like Max as much as anyone can like a Masshole, but he thumbs the ball and it should be called. I stand by my statement. I doubt it yields much of an advantage but the rule is there because it COULD yield an advantage and I'd hate to see a NC game winning goal be the result of thumbing and with a team like Duke, it's possible albeit unlikely.

Either way it's sort of a silly thing to get pissed about. I found 5 other pictures of guys on both teams holding their sticks at the plastic in that photo album alone. While Quinzani's grip was the most egregious, as Mr. Wilson said, it really yielded no advantage. Let 'em play.
