Stick Trick Saturday: Two-Handed Workout

Editor’s note: Welcome back to new season of Stick Trick Saturday thanks to the unyielding support of Wolf Athletics, one of the most innovative lacrosse companies to join our stable of LAS Partners. LAS Insiders save BIG on the Ghost shaft from Wolf. SEASON 2 features a new host, an improved format, and some of the most amazing scenery from today’s up and coming lacrosse towns. We hope you enjoy!

Huddle closely my friends, Mr. Freeze has taken over Boise, Idaho this week so I’m trying to make today’s lesson a hearty one.

I wanted to use today’s episode to remind everyone that stick tricks should be used to focus on improving our skills. Lacrosse is a two-handed sport, so why should we only do stick tricks with our dominant hands?

Skateboarders, snowboarders and other extreme sports contestants are scored more highly during judging if the contestant was going “fakie,” or using their least comfortable side during the trick. It’s like scoring 1.5 points for off-hand goals, dope right?

If we want to improve our game and take stick tricks to the next level, we need to get good with both hands.

Start slow and if it’s snowy, grab a colored ball. The Ghost and I are collecting icicles for your education, we hope you enjoy.
