On August 23, 2014, the Denver Outlaws brought home the franchise’s first Major League Lacrosse championship after 5 title appearances in just 9 seasons. The winningest major league sports franchise in Pat Bowlen’s portfolio of teams, Denver is also the first professional lacrosse organization West of the Mississippi to ever win a championship. The city of Atlanta, aka Hotlanta, fell nowhere short of its reputation when it got its chance to host the 2014 Major League Lacrosse Championship Game.
In past years, the MLL Championship Game has drawn relatively large and small crowds alike, sometimes at the same venue of use, and sometimes with the same teams playing. What can we expect for 2014? Will people show up in Georgia? Will TV viewership be better or worse? And is Major League Lacrosse beginning to create some serious traction within the larger sporting world?
Hard to believe that it is already April. It started way back in August with the first practice of fall ball. We’ve been through the hundred degree days and the practices in the snow, the conditioning and the team bonding. But now we’re here, the end of the line with games against rival Georgia Tech and division opponent Ole Miss.

Think the only beach lacrosse is in New Jersey? Not even close. There’s beach lacrosse in Mississippi and teams from Louisiana, Texas and Alabama all came out to compete. Of course, Knox and Dutchtown were there, repping purple, and keeping the LAS faithful in the know. Killer post, Knox!
