Music Monday: Lorne Smith’s 2014 New Year’s Party

As mentioned in a previous Music Monday, Lorne and The Wayhighs would be announcing show soon. They’ve got a pretty awesome event lined up for New Years. Is it too early to start thinking about New Years Eve?  Not when we’re talking about the Wayhighs first ever show in Yosemite at the 11th Annual Yosemite Bug New Year’s […]

Music Monday: No Gods

First up we have a new track from a Seattle duo we featured a couple months back. Shelton Harris and Tyler Dopps just dropped a brand new song and as usual, it’s nothing short of great. It’s clear that Shelton Harris and Tyler Dopps always put 110% into everything they release. From solid production to lyrics, every song is on point.

Music Monday: Because The Internet

Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino is making yet another appearance on Music Monday. We first brought Gambino to you back when his hit “Freaks and Geeks” blew up. CG is causing a buzz once again and this time we have a few tracks from his upcoming album, Because the Internet. The album is currently scheduled for a Dec. 10 release. This marks Gambino’s first project since he dropped his Royalty mixtape on July 4th of last year. Gambino can give us a typical hip-hop banger like “Worldstar” or a track with a mellower tone but one thing is certain; his wordplay never falters.

Music Monday: Tacos on Broadway

This week’s Music Monday brings us yet another gem from the Pacific Northwest. Seattle lyricists Tiglo and Cole better known as Brothers From Another or BFA for short are a young duo hailing from Seattle. The Seattle Hip-Hop scene is quite impressive and BFA brings an “easy going flavor of the mid 90’s while maintaining a new school attitude in their lyrics.” The two have managed to put out 6 EP’s to date and only have a bright future ahead of them.

Music Monday: Soul Brother #2

This week’s Music Monday focuses on an artist that is living in the shadows. Kendrick Lamar has virtually become a household name after the success of his highly acclaimed album good kid, m.A.A.d. city, and his now infamous “Control” verse. Kendrick, formerly known as K. Dot, is a member of Black Hippy, a group comprised of ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Ab-Soul, all of which are on the indie label Top Dawg Entertainment. While many people are tuned into Kendrick, the talented Ab-Soul aka “The Black Lip Pastor” is easily overlooked.

Music Monday: LXM Takeover

Over the weekend while I was in Orem, Utah with Mark Donahue taking in the sights and sounds of LXM 801 I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and ask a few pros what they’ve been listening to. Check out Mark’s video below to find out; some of their responses might surprise you! Interested […]

Music Monday: Wake Up!

Good morning lacrosse enthusiasts! I know it’s Monday but I’m here to get your day started off right. Here’s a few tracks to help wake you up. Just press play and enjoy!

Music Monday: Out of This World

Kid Cudi

This week’s Music Monday is a trip. Last Friday I visited the moon via the “Cud Life Tour” featuring Logic, Big Sean, and Kid Cudi. While Kid Cudi isn’t a new name in music, he is relevant as ever. The Man on the Moon put on a show and certainly lived up to his name. It was the complete experience.

Music Monday: The Myke B Show

This week’s Music Monday spotlights a really slept on artist I’ve been meaning to share for a while now, Myke Bogan. Last week Myke opened for Zion I and Snoop Dogg in Boise and to be honest, I was most excited to see Myke B. What’s really appealing about the Portland rapper is that he’s a laid back but motivated individual with a genuine love for Hip-Hop. I’ve chosen a song from each of his three mixtapes so take a listen.

Saxon Kincy: CU Lacrosse Alum & Rapper

Saxon Kincy played lacrosse for Colorado in 2008 and 2009 (at least that’s what his MCLA.us profile says), and now he’s trying to make it big in the music biz. Saxon’s music is catchy, intelligent, and could do just that.

Music Monday: Lose Yourself To Dance

I don’t know if you guys are listening to this new Daft Punk album or not, but it’s amazing. Sure, it’s nothing like One More Time or their popular earlier music, but I have to say I like their advanced quasi-minimalist sound more now than ever.

Text Messages From Con Bro Chill

Earlier this week, Con Bro Chill released its newest music video to rave reviews in the lacrosse world. Listening to Dance Thief, the “neon power party pop” song featured in the video, while watching the story line of this video unfold, I could not help but feel a since of nostalgia. It reminded me of the Power […]
