The Ohio Machine have now matched this season’s win total with the franchise’s combined wins in the first two seasons. When the Machine #OilUp against the Bayhawks, big things happen. Chesapeake is the first, and only, team to be swept by the Machine this season.
At this point last season, the Denver Outlaws had officially clinched a trip to Championship Weekend, leaving the remaining seven (well, six, to be honest – sorry Ohio) teams to duke it out for the remaining three spots. This year’s a bit different: not only are all playoff spots still available, but everyone still has a shot at the postseason.
The New York Lizards hosted the Ohio Machine on Saturday and came out on top with a 19-13 victory.

Friday night, the Boston Cannons traveled to a well packed Selby Stadium in Delaware, OH, to take on the Ohio Machine.

Things are starting to shake out in Major League Lacrosse! It’s a week 5 recap from the one and only Chris Rosenthall. New York, Ohio, Denver, and Rochester all picked up big wins!
The Ohio Machine took on the Chesapeake Bayhawks, and earned a 15-11 win from the defending champs on the road in front of lively crowd on Saturday night. Chesapeake is now 1-4 on the year, and needs to find a way to get back to their winning ways. Ohio entered the game at 1-3 (like the Bayhawks) but moved to 2-3 with the big road W.
The Ohio Machine announced the upcoming debut of the first overall selection from the 2014 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft, midfielder Tom Schreiber. Schreiber will take the field for the first time with the Machine on Saturday, May 10, against the Florida Launch in Boca Raton, Fla. The game will be televised live on SportsTime Ohio at 7 p.m. EST.
After watching night one of the MLL summer season, I couldn’t help but make some observations.
My favorite theme night in all of professional sports has to be Star Wars night. From Minor League Baseball to Nascar to the NLL to the NBA, every pro sports league has participated in a Star Wars night except the MLL…until now!
This month, MLL recognizes Machine midfielder Dominique Alexander for his outstanding community work in the city of Columbus. Alexander arrived in Ohio’s capital city back in 2009 as a freshman at The Ohio State University. As a Buckeye, Alexander amassed 95 points, was named an Ohio State Scholar-Athlete all four years and co-captained the team alongside now-teammate Logan Schuss. However, it was also at Ohio State where Alexander truly started donating his time to others.
