After hearing from friends how good Sherlock is, I finally started watching the PBS Masterpiece series this summer. It’s a great show, and even though there are only three episodes in each mini-season, Sherlock delivers in this modern adaptation of the great detective Sherlock Holmes and his main man John Watson. And guess what? Sherlock finds a lacrosse stick in an episode.
Apparently the TV show Falling Skies on TNT is a big hit with LAS Nation because we received this spotting from three different people! Thanks to readers Richard, Blake, and Sean for all letting us know about this spotting.
Spotted is back and we’re catching up on all the spottings LAS Nation has been sending in over the last few months. First up we have a tweet sent in featuring Warrior Rabil shoulder pads in a DISH Network commercial.
Rapper Hoodie Allen recently released a music video for his song “Show Me What You’re Made Of,” and it’s very Happy Gilmore-esque. But guess what? There’s a lacrosse stick in it.
On the last Spotted we showed an awesome behind-the-back goal featured on Gatorade’s Instagram, and this week we have a Gatorade-like sports drink featuring a lacrosse player on the bottle! Let’s take a look at Glacier X Sports Drink.
Gatorade is basically the pinnacle of sports drinks, and they just posted an Instagram photo of a lacrosse player flying through the air while going behind the back to score. What a shot, both by the player and the photo!
Humans of New York is back on Spotted with another lacrosse photo! This time it’s a youth player in the park, in full gear nonetheless. But his true ambition isn’t lacrosse – it’s dog walking!
We have another TV lacrosse stick spotting, but this time it’s from Portlandia! Thanks to @ConnectLax for tweeting us this week’s spotting, and including this awesome hashtag.
Toronto Rock star Garrett Billings was recently the subject of a CNN.com article in the site’s “Human to Hero” series. According to its website, “Human to Hero gets to the heart of what it takes to be a sporting star.” In Billings’ article and video, he discusses the abundance of lacrosse players on Wall Street, the lessons of playing college lacrosse that translate to the professional world, as well as the growth of the game and a bit about his personal life.
Ever heard of Humans of New York? It’s a really cool photo blog that pairs portraits of people in, you guessed, New York City with quotes and captions about their lives. Recently, Brandon, the photographer behind HONY, posted a photo of some girl lacrosse players in the subway station after one of their games.
Sometimes you see lacrosse while shopping. That’s what happened to our guy Sergey, who spotted some lacrosse sticks and photographs at a Ralph Lauren Outlet Store in Omaha, Nebraska.
Ever heard of Dude Perfect? It’s basically a group of five guys doing insanely awesome tricks and stunts, filming these antics, and posting them to YouTube. But maybe antics isn’t the right word, because the tricks Dude Perfect pulls off are extremely impressive, and these five friends have amassed quite a following on following on YouTube – over 2.4 million subscribers to be exact. And hey, they just used a lacrosse goalie stick in one of their recent videos, Nerf Sports Edition.
50 First Dates is a romantic comedy about how Adam Sandler’s character falls in love with Drew Barrymore’s character. The catch is that Barrymore’s character has short-term memory loss, and forgets who Sandler is each morning. Overall, I think it’s just a fun movie to watch, but did you know that Barrymore gets to smack Sandler with a lacrosse stick in the movie?
Last week we had a spotting from NBC’s Community, and this week we have a spotting from another NBC TV show: Parenthood. Shout out to Claudia with this week’s spotting!
