MGLT Finals Video: One Muddy Lacrosse Game

If you’re following us on Instagram you’ve seen some photos from the Mardi Gras Lacrosse Tournament, held this past weekend in New Orleans. If you’re subscribed to our YouTube channel, you’ve seen Friday and Saturday game highlights.

And now we bring you what might just be the wettest and muddiest lacrosse game of 2014 so far!

The Salt Shakerz made it back to the Finals of the MGLT trying to win their third straight title in NOLA. Voltron came down to the Big Easy from Upstate New York with other ideas! The fans got a great game to watch even though it was raining, but since it was also pretty warm, no one was complaining, except maybe the refs. But they were getting paid to be there, so forget those guys! (all kidding aside, the zebras did a great job all weekend at the tourney.)

I thought it would be fun to show as much of the final game as possible, so my friend Patrick Niddrie operated my camera on a tripod, I grabbed the mic, and we made a FULL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME TAPE. Because why not?

Huge thanks to Patrick for running the camera, to my brother Lee for holding up an umbrella when it started pouring again, and to the NOLC crew for toughing it out, watching the game, and cheering on the players. Why more teams don’t come watch the Finals on Sunday is beyond me!

Here are the Friday and Saturday highlight videos in case you missed them:

Mardi Gras is a different world, but if you’re looking for a fun and unique experience, this is a VERY good one to hit up! When I go back next year, it will be my fifth straight trip for the MGLT. Won’t you join me in 2015?
