Connor,

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the NALL goalie situation, but I for one know of at least one American-born keeper who would make a great addition to the NALL; Pat Crosby (USIL Devolpmental team goalie) and my teammate on team LC United from last year's Ales Hebreskry (sp) tournament in Prague. Pat isn't the biggest goalie in the world sizewise, but he seems to play his angles well, and he throws a very good outlet. More importantly, Pat is a cool customer who did not get rattled during the tournament we played in together, or during the WILC Championships when he played for team Slovakia.

I think the NALL is the perfect opportunity for guys like Pat or my former teammate, Eric Force to play (they both live in PA--lotta NALL teams down there) and excel. GIVE 'EM A CHANCE!

here are my thoughts on that: http://laxallstars.com/friday-editorial-the-usa-needs-good-box-lacrosse-goalies/

And I agree that it's tough to have to pay to tryout, and then not even get a good look... hopefully that won't be an issue with the NALL! I want the best of the best out there, and I want them to prove it first!

As a field goalie in the US, I only got into playing goalie b/c i played as a hockey goalie. Would love to see more box lacrosse take off in the states, especially in the smaller market areas. No need to play 20,000+ arenas. We need to look at the american hockey goalies about make the switch if the field players are not willing. I would rather play more box due to the pace of the game and increased physical play. As a player who has tried out for the NLL and learned, as a goalie, that if you dont know the right people you are just there to help pay some bills and be a shooting target. the NALL needs to think outside the "box", no pun intended. I am not willing to pay a try-out fee and travel cost to just try out. Being part of other pro tryouts, you get a few guys who travel as a special invite and a lot of local "talent" that come out just for the experience.

I didnt see the article about box goalies so maybe i would feel different...
