If you remember an interview with the league commissioner during the championship game he specifically mentioned the ATL as one the next places for a new team. With Atlanta being one of the largest cities in the south with a huge lacrosse presence it only makes perfect sense. Since I live in Alabama a 2 hour drive to see a game will be done on a regular basis if they get a team.

Good read. Here's more to the "pitch" for Texas:

According to Forbes, Texas is #6 as far as the Best States for business and careers. It's also the biggest, both in size and population, amongst the Top 10. This is very important because the average MLL salary is not even close what we might wish it could be. Not everyone gets a Rabil sized paycheck and/or endorsements. MLL players need to be able to live in the same market as their team at some point to help reduce the cost of travel and other expenses due to not living in the same market as their team.

Two Texas cities are in to Top 5 Housing Markets in the US... Players and their families get a better home value in Texas. Period.

And one other reason, though not the last, Texas borders Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas... arguably the best 4 states for producing athletes.
