I feel like at least half the padding I wore back in my playing days wasn't necessary.

Rugby players manage without pads and half the guys playing football (receivers and QB's especially) have little to no padding.

the mostly white UVM gloves are ok… the mostly green ones? SICK!
Maverik is going to tear it up this year with Albany, Brown, UVM, St. Johns all making the transition over to Mav. their heads are 2010 legal and their gear is pretty fresh. I am using an “older” pair of Mav gloves right now and they are comfortable, durable and broke in quickly. I was using a Juice head on my d-pole but found it a little too bendable. I want a stiff head for poke checks so I went with a Mohawk stick. they take an Fing beating and are stiff as hell. I am now using the juice on my shortie and its sweet for that.

I do wonder where UAlbany will go with the helmet decision… most likely Cascade (although maybe Riddell? I actually like how they look and they provide great protection) will come out on top as they are the most popular helmet (and something like 14 out of the last 15 schools to win an NCAA championship wore them). UVM used Gait stuff and dropped the helmet for a Cascade version and it looks much better. I could see the Danes doing the same.
I wonder if they'll still use a lot of black in their unis as well. it adds an interesting element for sure to the color scheme.
