Thirsty Thursday Summer Lacrosse Drop

There are more great lacrosse stories out there than anyone could even hope to cover correctly so when we miss a couple, we put together a Thirsty Thursday Lacrosse Drop so you can drink it all in.  Some of it you’ve seen before, some of it you probably haven’t… The Lacrosse Drop is back with a vengeance!

Just Another Feel GREAT Story From The Lacrosse World

Cathedral High School, in Springfield, Massachusetts, was devastated by a Tornado this Spring.  This happened on June 1st, 2011, right before Cathedral was scheduled to play West Springfield HS in the playoffs.  And it looked like the game wasn’t going to happen… UNTIL, Suffield Academy in Connecticut stepped in.  The video below tells the story a little more deeply, but I think it’s remarkable that a private school in CT would offer to assist a parochial and public school in MA, and all because of lacrosse!

The MLL on TV

The fact that there are only 6 MLL teams doesn’t frustrate me too much.  I understand the economic times and the reluctance for major sponsors to get in on the ground floor (outside of Warrior et al), but there is a real lack of games on TV (unless you live in New Orleans)… and this is tough for me to swallow.  ESPN3 simply isn’t TV.  It’s a webcast, plain and simple.  If it’s not on my big screen, it ain’t TV.  This weekend they are airing ONE game on ESPN2, which features winless Rochester (0-6 with a new coach in Tim Soudan) against 3-3 Chesepeake.  The game will be on at 730pm EST on Saturday July 2nd.

A seemingly increasing number of local sports channels seem to be picking the MLL up as the season wears on, and this is great.  Unfortunately for me, Cablevision is not one of those service providers that has local channels doing that.  They also don’t allow their internet users to access ESPN3.  Cablevision is the worst.

RADIO SHOW AT 6pm EST Friday!!!!!!!

Most weeks this Summer, Connor Wilson will be co-hosting a radio show on Blog Talk Radio with Marisa Ingemi of InLaxWeTrust.com.  Marisa covers the NLL quite a bit, and is getting into field lacrosse as quickly as she can.  She’s learning!  But each week we have great guests and get a really good conversation going.  Dropping knowledge via the internet airwaves!  You can also catch us live on the radio in Baltimore… Herb FM is the channel!
