Throwback Thursday: Cortland vs. Hartwick 1989

cortland_hartwick_1989_lacrosse

I love this video from 1989 via Lax School! It’s Cortland vs. Hartwick, which is classic D3 awesomeness in and of itself, but the crowd reactions and noise in this one are pretty awesome too.

At the 30 second mark of the video a Hartwick player stuffs a shot, fights for a GB, and then gets wrestled down to the ground. Today, parents and fans would be up in arms, and screaming for a penalty. There is a little bit of that in the audio, but a solid number of chuckles can also be heard. It was all part of the game back then, even if it was a little bit ugly! The guys in this video are now around 45 years old, so you know it’s old school.

Check out the Throwback Thursday Archive for more old school action and check out Lax School on YouTube!
