Editor’s Note: Welcome back to Tuesday Tie Up from Epoch Lacrosse! Each week, we feature a guest lacrosse personality to help you see how the big guns string their heads. You’re sure to learn a thing or two, so pay attention! We’ll let Epoch take it from here…
Philip Pierce, also known to the online world as Spawn of Pipo, ties up The Hawk with Otter Mesh while taking a break from #LaxCon 2015!
Spawn of Pipo first appeared on Tie Up Tuesday with his review of The Hawk head.
Phil Pierce is a veteran stringer (and a veteran, stringer!) with a creative and diverse stringing style. So when we ran into Philip on the convention floor we had to get him to tie up The Hawk in person.
We pulled him up a chair right in the heart of all the action and he got to work. It was an absolute pleasure to watch Phil just do his thing.
Phil takes a very simple approach to this pocket. He decided to go with a ten-diamond top string.
As you can see, Phil doubles up with the diamonds at the top of the head a one time and locks after to create the channel. This creates a high pocket that Phil utilizes by putting three beautifully weaved straight shooters across.
You can view more of Phil’s Tie Ups on his Instagram and more reviews on his YouTube page!
