Cal Tech is also notorious and infamous for its awful athletic programs. I believe the basketball team went some 20 years without winning a game in the SCIAC conference in NCAA D3. I don’t think lacrosse will ever infiltrate a campus where basketball fails.

I dont think powerhouse football programs actully care about academics most guys are only going for football and dont really take any challengeing classes they go expecting to go to the NFL thats what top 25 programs feed kids when recruiting them thats why they take benefits and goods from people and cause the program to be on probation. You hardly hear any of this with Lacrosse because its degree first lacrosse second.

I just used the lists US News provided. Not because those are ACTUALLY the top schools, but just because I wanted to use a “trusted” list of “top schools”. Same could be said for the Top 25 football schools post. The AP poll isn’t perfect, but I looked at the teams they gave me.

The point wasn’t which particular schools were listed, just that top academic colleges and universities tend to offer lax, while top football schools tend to do the opposite.

All three of the schools you mentioned are very fine institutions, with great lacrosse programs. And Virginia, Dartmouth, Tufts, Michigan, UNC and others could have all been mentioned as well.

But I had to cut the lists off somewhere, so please don’t take offense at the exclusion of 3 schools you may prefer.

Sorry Connor, I tried my best at The Pratt Institute w/ a club team, but athletes were just not accepted in art school.
