The year was 1985, and the Philadelphia Spectrum was playing host to the IBLA Exhibition Series between the US and Canada. This series pitted the best US box players against the best that Canada had to offer and the guys on both rosters served as a who’s who of lacrosse in the mid 80s. This […]
Sports fans love upsets. At this time of the year March Madness often dominate the headlines with lower seeds knocking out college basketball giants (Mercer!) in the opening rounds of the tournament. In the Canadian Lacrosse League playoff semifinals no such “shockers” occurred last weekend as the top two teams both advanced in highly-contested games.
The 2014 Canadian Lacrosse League season came to a conclusion last week with the top four teams shuffling for final playoff position. The red-hot Barrie Blizzard (4-4) were the big movers of the final weeks, winning four-in-a-row to earn the third seed in the quest for the Creators’ Cup. They will travel to Seymour-Hannah Sports Centre on […]
Lacrosse is growing! Whether you’re looking at internationally where this year’s World Championships will have more nations represented from, or in, Britain with the growth of junior programs and the explosion of participation at universities, our great sport is becoming more popular every day.
Who doesn’t love a good hidden ball trick video? At last year’s Ales Hrebesky Memorial, LCC Radotin pulled off the HBT in the finals against the Megamen. It was very well executed, and of course we have video!
Week 5 in the Canadian Lacrosse League opens with what could be the biggest matchup of the season. League-leading Ohsweken Demons (4-0) are set to host Niagara Lock Monsters (4-1) is a clash that could go a long way in deciding who comes out on top of the CLax standings at the end of the […]
The handful of Minnesota Swarm players taking part in Wednesday’s small practice session were a bit late to arrive, but the four Canadians had a good reason: they had to watch the second period of Canada’s hockey game against Latvia in the Sochi Olympics.

Seven games went down in the books this past weekend and the results shook up the standings and changed my opinions on certain teams. Let’s start off with Buffalo, then we’ll look at the rest of the teams, and make predictions for this weekend!
In my opinion, there are two indisputable legends of the indoor game currently playing in the NLL. The first is John Grant Jr. The second scored an OT winner for the Buffalo Bandits last weekend while playing against the Philadelphia Wings. His name is John Tavares.
Our friend Chris shared this little gem with us. Don’t have a lot going on this weekend? Spend a solid 30 minutes watching some very entertaining vintage box lacrosse. As most of us know, the MILL eventually became the NLL in which we love today. Let’s get back to the roots!
The Box Lacrosse Association of America (BLA) has formed to give American players a new option for playing “real” box lacrosse.
The Knighthawks raised their second consecutive Champions Cup banner, and then proceeded to down the Swarm 8-6 at Blue Cross Arena. Edmonton was able to hold on to a close win over Colorado in front of nearly 16,000 fans. The Philadelphia Wings made a loud and clear statement that they are not going to roll […]
The NLL kicked off last weekend, and although Colorado dropped their home opener, they were making big waves online. Trendsmap, a website that monitors what’s trending on Twitter in different cities, tweeted that “Mammoth” was trending in Denver during the game against Edmonton.
With the NLL kicking off last weekend it’s only appropriate that we show off some old pro box lacrosse footage for Throwback Thursday. It’s 21 years later, and pro box lacrosse is still going strong. The MILL of 1993 has been replaced with the modern day NLL, but guys are still getting after it… just […]
