With the NLL kicking off last weekend it’s only appropriate that we show off some old pro box lacrosse footage for Throwback Thursday. It’s 21 years later, and pro box lacrosse is still going strong. The MILL of 1993 has been replaced with the modern day NLL, but guys are still getting after it… just without the spandex.
The NLL is back! But before opening night could officially kick off for Rochester, they had a little banner raising to do…

ULax’s NYC box lacrosse league is going strong throughout the Winter, and we played this past weekend even though the sport court floor we use was just a little wet and slippery. Lots of guys fell over (as in everyone fell at least once), we got the games in, and had some fun. Now you get to see us slip and fall all over the place, because why not?
It has recently been announced that the new United States Lacrosse League (USLL) is set to get off the ground in the fall of 2014, and information on the first franchise for the new league, the Maine Moose Trax, has also been released. From the media coverage so far, things are looking really rosy for the USLL… but is the picture really so bright for this new American box lacrosse league?
Limegreen Lacrosse previews the ISAR box lacrosse tournament in Munich, Germany! It’s a great event, with lots of European talent coming together, cheerleaders, and so much more. This is prime Grow the Game action!
If you hadn’t heard, the NLL kicked off its preseason play this past weekend, and one city in particular seems very excited for the return of professional box lacrosse. What city is that? Philadelphia, where Philly Wings’ player Kevin Crowley is being featured on commemorative cups…during NBA games.
The Minnesota Swarm made the trek to Rochester, NY to take on the Knighthawks in preseason NLL action, and the game was exciting from the get go. If the regular season lives up to the goodness that was this scrimmage, the National Lacrosse League is in for a great year.
Johnny Mouradian runs the American Indoor Lacrosse Association and he is also the GM of the Philadelphia Wings. The AILA just announced a bunch of new program partnerships and we thought it was important for Johnny to fill our readers in on what the AILA does… We also want to know, What the heck is InCrosse?
Week 3 of NYC’s box lacrosse league (run by ULAX) saw a little upset action as previously undefeated LaxAllStars.com lost its first game of the season to the Gotham Goats.

LaxAllStars.com, led by Billy Nguyen, Joe Barile, John Ray, and Justin Otto moved to 2-0 with a tight 11-10 win over Rudy Martinez’ Brooklyn Dodgers squad. We hinted at it earlier, then gave you and unofficial announcement, and now we have the real deal for you: Under Armour is the new gear sponsor for the National Lacrosse League!
LaxAllStars.com got back on track with a win during week one of ULax’s outdoor Winter box lacrosse league in Manhattan. The website’s squad took down Team America (although with a name like that, winning made us feel awful) with relative ease, but it was really encouraging to see so many new faces to box lacrosse from the fine fellows in blue. I’d expect this team to improve greatly as the Winter season rolls along.
