Last weekend wasn’t a good weekend for New York football fans, but it’s going to be a great weekend for New York lax fans!

Take a seat and listen to Mr. BS (Craven), Striding Man (Brunelle), and Rusty (Gaudet) recap some of the action from the Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament. Some of the topics include…
You’re going to be hearing a lot more about the photo blog License To Still in coming posts but here is a teaser pic from Nate Cordova taken at the Tahoe Lacrosse Tourney.
I don’t know anyone who has ever played in the Jamaica Lacrosse Tournament but after a quick look at the website I really want to go. The tournament really has two major draw points. The first is that it benefits a local school and I’m all for supporting education through lacrosse and having a good time. The other draw is pretty obvious: the tournament is in December and it takes place in JAMAICA! The tourney directors have gone so far…
In its 25th consecutive year of existence the Glastonbury Lacrosse Tournament did not disappoint. THIRTY mens’ teams came together for play in 3 different divisions and the action kept up ALL Day Saturday and for most of Sunday on the 25th and 26th of July. Wheniwasakid brought together a team comprised of primarily Wesleyan University graduates in the second division. We went with some old school, mesh and stripes style uniforms and had to deal with a rash of last…

I have no idea what the context of these scenes are, but judging by the end credits I’m ready to give this Japanese flick a number of academy awards. Turning the ball in to bugs bunny on his way to Albuquerque? A between the legs flying Gait? Jumping out of a freaking helicopter? This begs the question, how on earth did we beat Japan in the IFWLA?
Last Thursday Southampton played in the first round of the playoffs in the Gotham Lacrosse League and dispatched the City Slickers who were seeded 5 slots higher than the boys in orange. Donny Morrison was easily the MVP of the game with 15 saves to keep Southampton and 3 of your main contributors winning.
The culture of lacrosse is almost as unique as the sport itself. Most people involved don’t simply play the game, but embrace it as a way of life. For instance, many post collegiate men’s tournaments feel more like a festival than a competition, where opponents on the field easily slip in to the role of best friends at a BBQ after the game. Nowhere have I seen this illustrated more completely than at the annual Lake Tahoe Tournament.
You read that title right. Lauren Conrad, The Incredible Hulk and some weird kid rocking flow named Connor Martin. 412lax hooked us up with the details, so we’re delivering the goods… Goods? Naw, we’re just showing you why Lauren Conrad is the perfect lax bro’s girlfriend…
Vail’s Summer Shootout has come to an end and the reigning champs were dethroned, some longtime teams dominated, some newcomers surprised and as usual, the level of play was top notch.
Along with the excellent coverage that the Vail Shootout itself provides, LAS has operatives all over the place out in Colorado and when big things happen, you’ll know about it.
As the summer rolls on here in the old US of A, club lax season is in full tilt mode down in Western Australia. The Wembley Wolves continued to dominate the WA Smokefree State League and dismantled the Phoenix Lacrosse Club in their latest game. They started out pretty tight with Wembley leading 4-3 after the first quarter but things got ugly soon after as Wembley took an 11-5 lead into halftime and really poured it on in the second half with a final score of 30-6. Yes, 30 to 6, I did not e-stutter.
Everyone loves playing lax at the Vail Shootout. Everyone loves sweet stick tricks. Today, we give you a mashup of both because some kid took his camera to Vail, video taped himself showing off, and posted it on YouTube. Born to be wild.
In Western Australia, East Fremantle has long been regarded as the top club side for men’s lacrosse. Before East Freo’s rise to prominence, Wembley Lacrosse Club was probably the top side in the WALA [Western Australia Lacrosse Assoc.] so anytime these two clubs get together for a game, the intensity and importance is guaranteed to be at the absolute highest level.
Well my lax friends and family, the summer is well upon us, and you know what that means. That’s right…the naked ride in Portland, OR. If my sources are correct, it is legal to ride your bike naked in the city at all times and not just when a thousand other people are doing it. I had the great fortune of happening upon this unsightly scene of skin the other night while coming home from a few beverages with my running crew.
Long Island is a hot bed area for lacrosse. Always has been and always will be. However, what always struck me as weird was the lack of quality lacrosse tournaments over the summer on “the Island”.
While Spring is the officially recognized season of lacrosse, many of us have reached a time in our lives where our early-year participation is limited to coaching or living vicariously through those we watch on the field. So what does a washed up college player (see: the entire LAS staff) living outside of a large metropolitan area (see: Rusty) have to look forward to?
