Roll Gate took on the Brooklyn Dodgers in the noon NYC ULAX game thus past Sunday and we got some pretty goals, and a couple of beauty saves. The goalies were "on" in all three games this weekend and were the definite stars of Sunday. A couple of Lafayette alumni also had big offensive days, and these guys notched a couple of sweet men's league fall ball goals.
One of the Japanese attendees of last year's Hawai'i Tournament caught the Wimmer boys "warming up" for an early round game. Paul Rabil, Max Seibald, Brett Queener, and a bunch of other pros are messing around, throwing some tricks, and proving their full belief in the "sun's out, guns out" mentality.
For the past two years, the Brooklyn Brawl lacrosse tournament has been held in Brooklyn. Now that the one day tourney is expanding, and moving indoors (November 2nd can be cold!), the event has moved West across a couple of rivers, and will be held in Randolph, New Jersey, at the Indoor Sport Pavilion.
We love learning about new tournaments, or places where the game is growing, and Belgrade, Serbia seems to fit that mold pretty nicely. The game seems to be taking off in the Balkans, and Ivan Negrojević sent over the below info to help us all stay up to date on the progress being made in Serbia and beyond.
Sunday was cloudy and a little bit misty in New York City, but that didn't stop the die hard players in ULAX's fall ball league from going out and giving it their best... or at least the best they could manage on a Sunday morning. We got a couple of dive shot attempts, and an almost goalie goal!
Check out this article for an opportunity to play, and coach, for Melbourne Lacrosse! I went to Australia to play and coach in 2001, and it was an amazing experience... one I would highly recommend if you love lacrosse, life, travel, and meeting great new people!
Shendelle Oliver returns to LAS to bring us a great update and photos from Grand Final Day in Western Australia! It was a muddy affair, but the teams all brought their best efforts in hopes of taking home the WA Premierships!
Salt Shakerz Lacrosse has committed to participate in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer (which takes place on October 19th-20th) in New York City for 2013. We hope the turnout from the Shakerz community is bigger than last year! And more importantly, the Shakerz have set an ambitious fundraising goal of $5,000, and we need your help!
