Welcome to Throwback Thursday! This week we’re showing off a great full game video from 1989 featuring Cortland State (NCAA D3) and Syracuse, the defending NCAA D1 champions! Back in the 70s, 80s, and even 90s, it was relatively common for D1 teams to play D3 teams, and even club teams, as the number of lacrosse playing colleges was much smaller.

Cal Lacrosse Celebrates 50 Historic Years

This season the Cal Men’s Lacrosse team celebrated their 50th Anniversary. The club was fortunate enough to host home games in the new Memorial Stadium on campus. The final regular season game was played against rival Stanford.

I know you know this, but the Thompson Trio changed lacrosse this season. Brothers Lyle and Miles, along with cousin Ty, dominated opponents and highlight reels by being one of the most electrifying offenses in lacrosse history. The two brothers from the Onondaga reservation in Upstate New York changed many people’s views about lacrosse after the electrifying year that was 2014.
