In what has quickly become an annual slugfest, the Salisbury Sea Gulls took down the Stevenson Mustangs in a top 5 NCAA D3 contest last night. As is often the case in an SU – SU game, there was plenty of laundry thrown by the refs, and the teams combined for 26 minutes of penalties via 29 infractions.

Loyola entered the Patriot League this year, and in their first season of conference play, they finished with a perfect 8-0 regular season record. They now get a bye to the semifinals, which they will also get to host next weekend at the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore.
We are assuming this late bloomer took a big step up in one year. We’ve seen it happen before, so what should this player do to maximize his rapid talent spurt? Suppose this hypothetical athlete was, at best, projected to be a depth player on a middle of the road D3 team, and then, all of sudden, a growth spurt and/or lacrosse development kicks in and he’s looking like a low end to middle D1 contributor. What can this kid do? What is the process going to be like?
I was lucky enough to get to fly back to Ohio for the weekend to attend the Ohio State vs. Michigan game to cap off Rivalry Week. The “Showdown in the Shoe” was played about two and a half hours before the Buckeyes’ spring football game in an attempt to build awareness around the Ohio State lacrosse program as well as to build as large of a crowd as possible to boo Michigan for the first time ever in the historic Horseshoe.
This weekend, we will all be treated to some serious lacrosse action, and it comes in a number of different forms. It’s not just NCAA D1 lacrosse that’s on and popping, although that is a big part of the equation, and we’ve got story lines to follow from across the lacrosse (box and field!) landscape.
Behold, the “Shamrock Series” uniform and equipment made especially for the University of Notre Dame men’s lacrosse team.
If you’re not amped up for the Stevenson – Salisbury game this weekend, you’ve clearly got huge problems. It’s going to an absolute throw down. I guarantee it! To compliment this week’s Hot Pot, which explains Stevenson’s rise and the greatest burgeoning rivalry in D3, I thought it would be interesting to see Stevenson’s change over the years, in video format.
Welcome back to The JuCo Report! This season hasn’t seen a ton of video highlights get released… until now. Today we’ve got your standard issue content like the NJCAA Top 10, Recent Scores, and In The News, but you’ve also got some serious video action. Enjoy!

Albany took down Stony Brook 17-7 this week, and the Thompsons were back to their old tricks, scoring at will, and making the rest of us look like average lacrosse players. This win was huge for Albany because it wrapped up an America East tourney bid for the Danes (they are 3-0 in conference).
Normally you’ve got some monster D1 match up, and it more than qualifies as the best game of the weekend, but this weekend? This weekend is different, and there is a different college level of lacrosse you need to watch.
While I can admit polls aren’t going anywhere, I can also acknowledge that they are massively flawed, and really only good for one thing: sports commentators blowing hot air about how to rank teams based on games that have yet to be played! I believe polls need to be more results-oriented, and less about what people think.
If you don’t love a good hidden ball trick, there might be something wrong with you. Go see a stick doctor immediately. ASA College pulled off the old hidden ball trick this year, and we found video. It’s an exciting time!
It’s Loyola’s first year in the Patriot League, and they’ve already secured the #1 seed and right to host the semifinals and finals for the league this postseason. Their latest W came over first year program Boston University. The Hounds took a 15-6 win over the Terriers in front of their home crowd fans, as the game was played a the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore.
Over 10,000 fans made their way to Michie Stadium for the annual Army-Navy game, and Army came out on top at home, winning 14-7, and upping their record to 8-3. Army now sits in second behind Loyola for the Patriot League. Navy drops to 4-7 overall with the loss.
Our fourth Club Directors Panel presented a bit of a challenge for our participants, because we asked about attitudes of those associated with off-season lacrosse. By no means are we being accusatory of our panel, but as the scene continues to evolve, we are simply wondering what they’re experiencing from their side of the table.
Some refer to it as the Greatest Rivalry in all of sports, in the Midwest and in much of the rest of the country you hear it called The Game. In the sporting world, everyone respects the historic rivalry between The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the University of Michigan Wolverines.
The Game, The Greatest Rivalry in College Lacrosse, call it what you want but the Maryland vs. Johns Hopkins rivalry is serious. Learn more about the War for the Old Line State.
