Goalies Hate LongSticks GIF

As a goalie, there is nothing worse than a crank shot from 5 yards away… the second least favorite shot for most keepers has to be the long pole bomb. You never know where it’s going, the angles are different, and half the time the poles don’t even know where the ball is going. It makes for exciting lacrosse, and can be a momentum changing play.

The Many Different Gloves of Loyola Lacrosse

- Published March 17, 2014 by in College, Gear, NCAA

While some teams put their players in a couple different helmet models (Duke uses Brine, old Warrior, and new Warrior helmets) that all look the same, the Loyola Hounds take a different approach. Does this remind you of anything? Have we seen this before? We sure have, but it’s ALWAYS welcome. Long range long pole goal. Simply classic. What was that? 60 yards? Sure thing, no problem. Love the accuracy and straight up gumption from Yale’s Jimmy Craft.

Hot Pot: Solving The Specialization Problem – One Rule

Lacrosse does have some issues, but almost all of them can be fixed with ONE SIMPLE CHANGE: Limit roster sizes to less than 20 player and you will see a change. I’ve seen it happen before, and it can happen again. We can keep tinkering with the rules, and distancing our game from its original inception, OR we can limit roster sizes and let the players play. It really is a simple choice.

Fairfield opened up a 1 goal lead after 1 quarter, and a 2 goal lead going into the half, but Yale just would not go quietly into that good night. Both teams put up 4 goals in the third, and Yale clamped down in the fourth to blank Fairfield, while scoring two goals of their own, to tie it up at 11. OT came and Stags’ senior Eric Warden launched a bomb from about 13 yards to win it for Fairfield.

This Is How Loyola Trounced Duke

0 - Published March 10, 2014 by in College, NCAA

They shot well, came in with a great game plan, and executed to perfection. It’s still early in March, but Loyola is clearly a team on a mission this year. I expect them to drop another game or two and possibly have some off days, but if they are gelling at the end of the year like this, the Hounds are as dangerous as anyone in the country.
