After each year of NCAA Lacrosse rolls to a stop, we go through and find all the D1 players we can, who use traditionally strung lacrosse sticks. It can be a regular six or eight diamond pocket, a pita pocket, or something crazier… as long as it uses leather and string, it’s eligible!
Limestone defeated LIU Post 12-6 for the D2 national title in NCAA Men’s Lacrosse today. The game started out tight, but Limestone slowly began to pull away and never looked back. On the day, they were the best team, but the margin of victory was larger than anticipated, and probably bigger than many segments of the game would make you think.
Tufts took down Salisbury 12-9 to claim the 2014 NCAA Division 3 Men’s Lacrosse title. The Gulls of SU went down 1-0 on an early Tufts goal, but would build up an early 3-1 lead, and look in control. Tufts fought back, winning face offs and creating transition and the game was tied at half, 5-5. Tufts began to inch away in the third quarter, and eventually built up a solid lead. Scoring 3 goals in 48 seconds never hurts…
In game 2 of our Final Four action yesterday, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish found a comfortable win over the Maryland Terrapins to advance to the National Championship game on Monday, 1pm et.
Welcome to Championship Weekend! We’ll have photos from the games, photos from the day’s events and scene, and video wherever relevant. Also, be on the lookout for notes from Chris Rosenthall. He’s taking his professional talents to the college game this weekend!
We’ve received all FIVE Finalist’s videos for the #TotallyEpoch Contest, and man oh man, they are good! We’ve checked each submission out ourselves, but now it’s time to share them with the rest of the world!
The lift check is one of the most effective checks a defenseman can utilize. The “dirty” lift check is a special technique which I have developed in my style of play.
We’re set up to see FIVE great games this weekend for NCAA Championship Weekend (two D1 semis, the D2 final, D3 final, and D1 final), and as usual, long stick midfielders will play a huge part. While there may not be a CJ Costabile of 2014 (then again, there may be!), these guys will play a huge role in how the games turn out.
Upset-minded Long Island University-Post will try to end their surprise post-season run with a victory in the NCAA Division II National Championship when they face second-ranked Limestone College on Sunday.

We are inching ever closer to the FIL World Lacrosse Championships in Denver (It’s in July)! Rosters are being trimmed down to a final set of 23, numbers are being assigned, players are working harder than ever to prepare, and many fundraising efforts are nearing their final stages!
Craig Chase has been shooting D1 and MLL games for us, but back in 2007 he was shooting games and producing sweet, sweet photos! One of the events he shot in 2007 was the Crabfest Tournament, and Craig sent over some photos from the event, and they feature a number of guys who just graduated, or are still in college.
The Outlaws saw another challenger climb to the mountaintop, then promptly booted them down the slide like a department store Santa. The Hounds tried to beat the Cannons for the first time in their relatively short history, the Machine looked to do the same against the Lizards and both were denied. The more things change, the more they stay the same, right?
Since I have not made any clear decisions on what the grand enigma of playoff success must be, I will defer to people with much more experience and success in this matter. It’s good to have friends who are smarter than you! Let’s take a small sampling of what it means to make a successful playoff push, from some of the best minds in the game.
The time has finally come for us to announce the winners of the first annual Best Bucket Awards. Come on in and meet our judges, and see which buckets they chose. You won’t believe your eyes!
