Welcome back to Monday Night Memories! Randy Fraser Remembered the Rough Stuff, and Brian Cost Got Rocked in our first two stellar editions of this series. This time around we’ve got a story from Anthony Kelly. John Grant Junior stole his helmet! It’s 2007, the US is playing Canada in the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships, and Anthony Kelly is about to learn a valuable lesson.
Syracuse took on the Iroquois Nationals this weekend in Cortland, NY, and won the unofficial game 14-11. Hakeem Lecky had five goals, and both teams showed moments of true excellence. It was a great showcase of high scoring, fun lacrosse, and the fans in attendance were treated to a great game.
On September the 28th the new Italian lacrosse season begins with the Italian Cup and the collaboration between Lacrosse All Stars and Coach Cibe starts again. I hope everyone is ready to lax and to follow Coach Cibe’s news from Italy.
Chuck Richardson, Kevin Dugan, and Jeff Brunelle take a trip to Cane River Falls just outside of Kingston, Jamaica. Cane River Falls was one of Bob Marley’s favorite bathing spots – he even included it in the first line of his song Trench Town.

Japan brought a team to Melbourne, Australia to take on an Aussie side in an international friendly match this Summer. The game was played in June, and both teams brought competitive squads, focused on improving for the 2014 World Championships in Denver this Summer.
On October 5th, Team USA hopefuls will once again face a grueling day of lacrosse to decide who makes the team, and who gets cut. The 52 man roster has been split into 26 man “White” and “Blue” teams, and before taking on each other in an inter-squad scrimmage, the White squad will take on Loyola, while the Blue squad will face Towson. The games will be played as part of the Play for Parkinson’s Showcase on October 5th in Alexandria, VA.

Team USA tryouts were last weekend, and after the long few days of competition, it seems that some of the guys got together to kick back and relax…at a Canadian’s place.
2013 marked 20 years of lacrosse in Germany, and as things would have it, SCC-BLAX (where I coach in Berlin) is celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2013 as well. The occasion was celebrated a couple of weeks ago, where the club invited everybody to the fields for a day of lacrosse fun. Free beer and bratwurst can make anybody happy, and always generates a good crowd.
If this were the NFL, every man on the US training roster would be breathing a sigh of relief, knowing they had made the final cut.
