USA Women Dominate FIL World Lacrosse Championships

The US Women’s Lacrosse Team has claimed it seventh world title with a 19-5 win over Canada in the finals of the tournament, which has held in Oshawa, Ontario. The US was up 14-2 at the half and cruised to victory in the second, still outscoring their opponents 5-3. This is the ninth international tournament, and the ninth finals appearance the US women have made.

Australian Women Leave For World Championships

Australia will do battle with other 18 countries (including Canada, Japan, England, USA, Wales, New Zealand and Germany) and are solid favorites (along with Team USA) to return home with a gold medal. The World Championship starts on the 10th of July and will run til the 20th of July when the Championship game will be played.

Olympic Lacrosse Dream: FIL Accepted Into IWGA

The Federation of International Lacrosse has been accepted in to the IWGA, and this is a major step towards the end goal of Olympic participation. The IWGA runs the World Games, and that is where smaller, non-Olympic sports often go, especially if they aim to play in the Olympics eventually.
