Lacrosse isn’t just a game, it’s a lifestyle. Catch up on what’s cool here, and live the lax lifestyle everyday.
Halloweekend may be over, and I’ve compiled some of the best lacrosse-related Halloween photos from Instagram and Twitter. There are many more than this, but these were some of my favorites. Check out this weeks Photo(s) of the Week with our Halloween Blowout Edition.
Lacrosse Mustache Madness 2013 is in full swing, and I’m thinking that it’s about time LaxAllStars got in on the Madness. As of today, we officially invite you to join us in growing some facial hair and raising funds for the HEADstrong Foundation.
Our friends at Throne of String tipped us off to this Spotting by posting this photo on Instagram and tagging @LaxAllStars in the photo! Here we have the TV show “The Goldbergs,” and there’s a goalie stick in the background during this Halloween episode.
Good morning I heard a great sermon in church Sunday that discussed needs, faith, and prayer. In a nutshell, the message of the sermon was that, while we are focused on our needs and what is wrong in life, we are doing nothing but bringing more of that into focus. Rev. Jackson explained that even in prayer, we should focus on our breakthrough, since God already knows our needs, and knew them before we did. A focus on the need puts an emphasis on lack…
Last week, we covered the basics of what a concussion actually is, what symptoms can be experienced, and the common causes in the game of lacrosse. In this post, I’ll be discussing why we should care about concussions and what type of consequences can be associated with this type of injury. A 2012 study reported that among high school sports, concussion rate was third highest in boys’ lacrosse behind football and ice hockey. Another 2013 study by the NY Institute of Technology surveyed high school girls’ lacrosse players…
Let me introduce to you the Dallas duet known simply as The O’s. Taylor Young and John Pedigo played together in various other bands before striking out alone on their guitar and banjo in 2008. These two can absolutely jam and really show it on their new album, entitled Thunderdog, which let’s be honest is one of the coolest album names out there…Is it a dog made of thunder? Is it a conjunct of ‘the under dog?’ It’s probably both and…
While at the Saratoga Springs Lacrosse Shootout in July, I got the opportunity to witness all three Powell brothers reunited and ready to put on a show. For the first time in nearly 6 years, Casey, Ryan, and Mike hosted “The Powell Hour” in front of a few hundred of Upstate New York’s most passionate lacrosse players and fans.
First up we have a new track from a Seattle duo we featured a couple months back. Shelton Harris and Tyler Dopps just dropped a brand new song and as usual, it’s nothing short of great. It’s clear that Shelton Harris and Tyler Dopps always put 110% into everything they release. From solid production to lyrics, every song is on point.
GREAT Monday morning, ladies and gentlemen! Each and every one of us has heard a song or two and wondered why anyone would think it’s good music. And we’ve probably already convinced ourselves that it’s actually not good music. We look at certain people listening and singing along to the songs and wonder if they have any clue as to the meanings, relevance, or impact of the things that they are repeating. I’ve been asked. I’ve wondered. And the thought that always comes to…
End Caps time, here we go. No Shave Novembeard is here! For the first time in my life I think my face has accumulated enough peach fuzz to shamefully attempt to grow facial hair, and not shave at all this month. Stay tuned for my pathetic, hairless updates.
Colton Raichl of Lacrosse All Stars shows you how to get all the girls in another installment of Stick Trick Saturday (11/01/2013). The series is designed to be an inspirational guide for lacrosse players to get used to the properties of their own stick. Tricks are not just to show off but to develop a better relationship between the player and his crosse. This one is called the “The Girlfriend Getter.”
An empty head is not really empty; it’s stuffed with rubbish. Hence the difficulty of forcing anything into an empty head. – Eric Hoffer Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! Happy Friday and happy November!
Aw, the good old days. When you went to school and each kid had their day to show and tell their favorite things. For some people (and probably most on this site!), that favorite things is lacrosse.
Tony Siragusa (AKA Goose) and Paul Rabil are spending a lot of time together this week. That’s because Paul’s home in Maryland is the new set for Man Caves, a home renovation reality television series hosted by former Super Bowl champ.
Good Wednesday morning, ladies and gentlemen! Let me begin by thanking you for being an audience, and an outlet for me to toss my thoughts too. If you’d asked me when I got out of college, what I’d be doing right now, I would have said teaching. I would not have said playing lacrosse still. And I definitely would not have said sending my thoughts out daily to 200+ email addresses. But this is the position that I now find myself in,…
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! I hear from people all the time that they are “a little stressed out.” I also hear from people that “we all get stressed” sometimes. I wholeheartedly disagree. Stress, like many other things in life, is a choice. I, personally, do not allow myself to use the word stress in describing myself, my mental or my physical state of being. In fact, if I’m not discussing the fact that I don’t believe in stress, or…
We’re back with another spotting from tipster Rick! We’ve seen Archer play lacrosse before, but now we see both his stick and a sweet lacrosse trophy.
Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino is making yet another appearance on Music Monday. We first brought Gambino to you back when his hit “Freaks and Geeks” blew up. CG is causing a buzz once again and this time we have a few tracks from his upcoming album, Because the Internet. The album is currently scheduled for a Dec. 10 release. This marks Gambino’s first project since he dropped his Royalty mixtape on July 4th of last year. Gambino can give us a typical hip-hop banger like “Worldstar” or a track with a mellower tone but one thing is certain; his wordplay never falters.
Over the past few months, concussions have been gaining more and more attention in the media, schools, sports leagues, and the medical world. FRONTLINE recently aired League of Denial: The NFL’s Concussion Crisis, which left viewers reeling about the subject. Around the same time, Lacrosse Magazine published a few stories on concussions, including one featuring former Duke and Cannons stand-out Brad Ross.
