Good Wednesday morning, ladies and gentlemen! Let me begin by thanking you for being an audience, and an outlet for me to toss my thoughts too. If you’d asked me when I got out of college, what I’d be doing right now, I would have said teaching. I would not have said playing lacrosse still. And I definitely would not have said sending my thoughts out daily to 200+ email addresses. But this is the position that I now find myself in,…
Lacrosse isn’t just a game, it’s a lifestyle. Catch up on what’s cool here, and live the lax lifestyle everyday.
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! I hear from people all the time that they are “a little stressed out.” I also hear from people that “we all get stressed” sometimes. I wholeheartedly disagree. Stress, like many other things in life, is a choice. I, personally, do not allow myself to use the word stress in describing myself, my mental or my physical state of being. In fact, if I’m not discussing the fact that I don’t believe in stress, or…
We’re back with another spotting from tipster Rick! We’ve seen Archer play lacrosse before, but now we see both his stick and a sweet lacrosse trophy.
Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino is making yet another appearance on Music Monday. We first brought Gambino to you back when his hit “Freaks and Geeks” blew up. CG is causing a buzz once again and this time we have a few tracks from his upcoming album, Because the Internet. The album is currently scheduled for a Dec. 10 release. This marks Gambino’s first project since he dropped his Royalty mixtape on July 4th of last year. Gambino can give us a typical hip-hop banger like “Worldstar” or a track with a mellower tone but one thing is certain; his wordplay never falters.
Over the past few months, concussions have been gaining more and more attention in the media, schools, sports leagues, and the medical world. FRONTLINE recently aired League of Denial: The NFL’s Concussion Crisis, which left viewers reeling about the subject. Around the same time, Lacrosse Magazine published a few stories on concussions, including one featuring former Duke and Cannons stand-out Brad Ross.
ATCR recently dropped their latest album, Nation II Nation, which includes tracks like “Sisters” and “Bread and Cheese” below. CW put it best, this music “Makes me want to play lacrosse!”
Buenos dias! You’re back for another run down on the what’s what and who’s who in lacrosse. End Caps is back and recapping what’s goin’ on.
Good Monday morning! Last week, I had the opportunity to reconnect with a friend of mine that I had not spoken with since college, save a couple of emails. We picked up as if there hadn’t been an 8 + year lapse of communication; as if we’d just been hanging out in the dining hall or the dorms yesterday. Those that know me, know I rarely answer phone calls from numbers that I don’t know, but something told me to pick up.
Big thanks need to go out to Blackfeet Lacrosse for hooking me up with the mini pita for this week’s stick trick video. The Crossover will help you out with your hand eye coordination, and as always help you develop soft hands.
Did you miss The Lacrosse Show last night? It was a REALLY good one! We had Carlo Sunseri on as a guest so we obviously spent a good amount of time talking video games! We also hit up the NLL and PLPA collective bargaining agreement, England’s tour of the US, different approaches to fall ball, as well as Maverik’s potential rise (and the Pride of Westchester).
After years of injury recovery, UVA alum Ken Clausen returned to the playing field for the Denver Outlaws as they scrimmaged the Denver University Pioneers last weekend at the Colorado Lacrosse Showcase. His teammate, Mack Bocklet, gave him a shout out on Twitter for the successful return. Clausen is also the co-founder of Lacrosse Mustache Madness, a fundraising campaign for the HEADstrong Foundation, which helps families affected by blood cancers.
Good morning! Last week I started typing one of these messages, and it went completely off track into another message that I was not ready to send, so I didn’t. As I was typing yesterday, I almost spawned off into a completely different message as well toward the end, but decided to erase it and save it for another time. A few hours after I hit send, it was clear to me that the two messages were meant to be passed along today; maybe for…
Our friends at Stylin Strings posted this awesome photo on Instagram, and it was too good not to share. I’m not sure where the Stylin guys are traveling to, but you can’t go wrong with your favorite lacrosse stick and a Batman backpack.
Sergey Baklykov sent us an another email, with yet another pair of custom Huarache cleats for NFL player Greg Toler made my mache275.
Today we’re checking in with two well-known “college rap” rappers that have been maturing over the last couple years… and moving away from the party rap scene into their own deeper genres.
4onetwolax had us racking our brains for a good nominee for a lacrosse themed Burger King “the King” commercial. He came up with three great examples himself and asked others to propose their potential top videos. We have to go with the King starring as Brett Queener with this full field goalie goal.
Good Monday morning! Maybe I’m wrong. I’m pretty sure that there was a time in the past (possibly a past life) where I could really sing. I mean, I could drop notes like it was my business. In fact, I’m not really sure why I was never awarded a multimillion dollar recording contract. I guess the world was sleeping on me. I like to recall these good ol’ days fondly though. I like to let the world (mostly me, because…
This week’s Music Monday brings us yet another gem from the Pacific Northwest. Seattle lyricists Tiglo and Cole better known as Brothers From Another or BFA for short are a young duo hailing from Seattle. The Seattle Hip-Hop scene is quite impressive and BFA brings an “easy going flavor of the mid 90′s while maintaining a new school attitude in their lyrics.” The two have managed to put out 6 EP’s to date and only have a bright future ahead of them.
