Rob Pannell posted a photo of himself on a big screen video board in Times Square a few days ago, and I have been waiting for Tuesday to roll around so I could share it all with you in this week’s Photo of the Week!

It has recently been announced that the new United States Lacrosse League (USLL) is set to get off the ground in the fall of 2014, and information on the first franchise for the new league, the Maine Moose Trax, has also been released. From the media coverage so far, things are looking really rosy for the USLL… but is the picture really so bright for this new American box lacrosse league?
The NLL season is finally upon us and the LAS staff couldn’t be more enthralled – so much so that we are doing our own little NLL fantasy league. Fantasy lacrosse has grown in leaps and bounds over the past few seasons and is continuing to grow. Play against LaxAllStars today!
The rise of the “lax bro” has been evident over the past few years, and has certainly led to a lot of discussion. Over the summer, Connor wrote about the difference between “swag” and “swagger,” and I continued the conversation. After prompting from a recent article, Connor centered this week’s Hot Pot on the issue again. The debate has also resurfaced on social media, leading goalie John Geagan, of the NY Lizards and Manhattan College, to tweet his mind.
Maverik United brought out the kitchen sink this weekend in Las Vegas. Coming off three heart-breaking losses in a row, MavU got the much needed W, to bring them back within two games of Team STX. It was a frigid night in Vegas, but the fans were rewarded with one of the hottest nights of action we’ve seen from the LXM PRO Tour.
It’s the MLL Supplemental Draft and there are over 500 players to choose from. Who does your team need to pick?
If you hadn’t heard, the NLL kicked off its preseason play this past weekend, and one city in particular seems very excited for the return of professional box lacrosse. What city is that? Philadelphia, where Philly Wings’ player Kevin Crowley is being featured on commemorative cups…during NBA games.
The Minnesota Swarm made the trek to Rochester, NY to take on the Knighthawks in preseason NLL action, and the game was exciting from the get go. If the regular season lives up to the goodness that was this scrimmage, the National Lacrosse League is in for a great year.
We had Kyle Sorenson of the Vancouver Stealth on The Lacrosse Show last night and we grilled him on the new NLL rule changes, what it takes to win in the league, his stick set up, the new Under Armour gear and deal, and a ton of other interesting stuff! We also talked MLL, NCAA, LXM, and FIL Lacrosse…
Note: Adrenaline, an LXM sponsor, is an LAS advertising partner. Faceoff for the 8th game of the LXM|ATS is set for 6:15pm on Saturday, December 7th. Unfortunately Maverik United’s opportunity to end Team STX’s winning streak in Tucson was postponed until this weekend due to unprecedented weather conditions and cancellation of the game for player […]
As we all know by now, Brodie Merrill was traded from the Florida Launch to the Boston Cannons. Brodie was called the long stick middie GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) by John Grant, Jr., and when you’re the best you’ve clearly logged some miles. How much does he have left in the tank?
The biggest news out of Florida so far has been the Casey Powell – Joe Walters swap that went down yesterday. Powell was a leader for the Bayhawks last year, and helped them win their second straight title. It’s a little surprising to see Powell leave such a monster team, but when you consider all the promotion work he did for the last MLL All-Star game (held in Florida), it starts to make a lot of sense…
The USLL has announced it’s first franchise in league history. The Maine Moose Trax will be playing out of the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine starting in the fall of 2014.
Mark Donahue preview’s the upcoming 2014 NLL season by weighing in with his opinion on last season, listing each team’s transactions, and highlighting the keys to the 2014 season. Training camps have began, it’s time to get serious.
The floodgates have opened, the MLL offseason is in full swing, and the Florida Launch franchise is supplying some major fuel to the fire. You knew the Floridafication of the Launch was imminent, and now that we’re airborne, let’s review the moves that have been made, and why they were made.
