BTW if someone can identify this boxla head, I'd appreciate it - I don't have a clue what it is other than it's not an Xcalibur (smaller and slightly different) and I got it off eBay from a bro in Canada.

Thanks for the kind words, Cannon! The shooter is a simple weave that works well on both mesh and traditional: weave half of the shooter in-and-out through the crosslace and leathers, loop through the sidewall hole (or the sidewall string if there's no hole), then bring the weave back across alternating bottom-top-bottom etc. I then loop back through the other sidewall hole (or sidewall string if there's no hole) and tie it off with a hitch. I took faceoffs two years in high school, so my OCD wants hitch knots on sidewalls and shooters (too many overhand and square knots ripped off, ground off, worn off, etc.). I got too into keeping things symmetrical and didn't end up with a proper checkerboard, but the release is so smooth that I didn't want to "fix" it.

Best looking Trady I've seen in a long long while. Solid work.

As simple as it looks, I want to learn how to do that top string shooter (small ones) twist.

Now you've got me curious about your traditional tieoff mod - I had switched to double traditional knots at the bottom because I hate blown-out leathers, but even the double trad can shift so I've returned to cutting slits. Barring any pockets for Birmingham-area laxers, the next project you see from me will probably be an all-leather pocket in a Warrior Nos (LaxWorld runners with two shades of deerskin crosslace so it color matches a custom ash-mahogany-ash composite shaft).
