Most highlights on the video are our Cali*Lax ALL-STARS Midget A team which competes at a Canadian ‘A’ Level – all our teams from Novice to Midget are Canadian ‘A’.. This
Midget age group has been on 4 Canadian tours over the last 3 years and have
played Whitby 1, Peterborough, Brampton, Mimico, New West plus 3 Canada Day tourneys in Calgary.

The guys pushing it here in the US playing in the USBOXLA are all Canadian pro players. Lewis Ratcliff in Washington (one of the NLL’s top), Matt Brown in Denver (6yrs NLL), myself in California (12yrs NLL). We teach these kids how to play the game just like we do back home but use some of their field skills as an advantage.

There is a gap but all of us run this year round here in the US so we’re doing what we can to catch up. It won’t be long….plus we always bring in a few Team BC players to help our boys out.

those kids should go to canada and play a real box team…not becauwse theyd lose but because it would expose them to the fine timing of box that canadians have. While everyone in america talks about the stick skills involved in box they are missing the most important aspect; offball play. It would be in the best interest of these programs to make tournament trips up to canada, much like what canadian field teams do. To be the best gotta play with the best. BUT STILL GREAT FOR THE AMERICAN LACROSSE COMMUNITY TO FINALLY BECOME MORE INVOLVED IN BOX, oops caps.

wont ever be able to match canada’s intensity of box lacrosse! its a country wide thing. kids learn to throw fakes and behind the back passes before they get to middle school. the usa will never be able to recreate it.
