Faceoff for the 8th game of the LXM|ATS is set for 6:15pm on Saturday, December 7th. Unfortunately Maverik United’s opportunity to end Team STX’s winning streak in Tucson was postponed until this weekend due to unprecedented weather conditions and cancellation of the game for player safety. We’re talking monsoon level rains and a pool of water in place of a field.

In Vegas, MavU must come out of the gates firing on all cylinders to capture the much needed win. As I made it clear before, it’s not just the first half where Maverik needs to pull it together: they need to keep Team STX from going on their infamous scoring runs in the second half in order to finish the game on top.

The way the schedule looks right now, if Maverik United can grab the win this weekend they will only be two games back from Team STX. Lucky for them, there are only two events left so we may see a tie for this season’s champion bragging rights. After Vegas is Cocoa and LA, so MavU needs to stay hot and pull out a three game winning streak in order to tie for first.

Obviously if Team STX wins, then they will be the clear winners this season. One postitive for Maverik United will be playing against a Desko and Drenan-less Team STX.

Although they will be without a strong scorer and great pole, MavU will be missing the big midfielder Zach Brenneman. Each team will be missing their forth best scorers. Check out the stat totals so far, before heading in to the weekend.
