pro strung seems like a good option, but if you have a local face-to-face lacrosse store i would get it strung there, that's what i always do. either the guys at bigfoot or one heart lacrosse.

I definitely love stringin my own head, kinda like knitting... (that IS a joke)
But I did see some heads at the store the other day that were decently prestrung. BUT stringing your lax head is like lacing your own shoes... its a part of the LAX life that everyone needs to learn. You can't claim to be "bro" if you can't string your stick... Right?

A jimalax hard mesh kit is about $10, so this seems like a pretty good deal. This would be great for a kid upgrading from his AV8 but doesn't know how to string yet.
I would love to know how quickly a lax.com "pro stringer" can string up a whip.

I think having a pocket that is playable off the shelves is a huge step (back) in the right direction. I've never bought a head factory strung but I've seen them and yeah they're awful typically.

Maybe I misread this article a little but I don't see it as big of an advancement as you do Connor. I see this as a great way to get new kids to play lacrosse. Joe from down the block can buy a head and use it right away and won't be turned away from the sport as quick as a kid who has an awful factory strung pocket might be. Otherwise I don't see the big deal; you, me and most other people who play for a couple years get set on their personal preferences which can vary a lot (shooters, colors, extra string, bottom string length, whip, hold and the list goes on...). So I don't see experienced players running out to get these since they want to string a head which has a more defined pocket. The pictures above look decent and usable but aren't pockets that most of us would choose to use. So I will continue to buy the unstrung heads since they're cheaper but hopefully kids who don't know how to string up a stick, don't know someone who can or are new to the sport will gravitate towards this and lacrosse can continue to grow.

good point! such a good point I didn't even know it!
LU should definitely promote that more... but I bet they do in their stores. maybe that's what has helped them become so dominant on LI and the surrounding areas!

Have to say we've made huge strides in our factory stringing and the majority of them can be used with minimal tweaking right off the shelf.

Good marketing my Lax.com... Lacrosse Unlimited has been doing this for years but I guess they haven't marketed this way.. other than beginner sticks, LU refuses to sell factory strung heads because of the terrible quality that comes with factory strung sticks and the limiting customization. It's good to see someone else catching on to this idea.. hopefully more retailers will stop selling factory strung sticks
