NYC Box Lacrosse: Week 2 Video And Results

Week 2 of the ULAX NYC box lacrosse league saw two 1-0 teams go head to head and two 0-1 teams match up. One game was exceptionally tight, and through four games the largest winning margin has been 7 goals. Both LAS games have been decided by 1 goal.

Gave Easton’s new Stealth Core shaft a go. Worked great.

LaxAllStars.com eked out the OT win last week, but fell to league newcomer Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubish 13-12 this week. Quinn Moroney (Manhasset headed to Amherst) and the brothers Wenk (Thomas and Jimmy) continue to lead the charge offensively for BTM, while John Ray backstops the defense in net.

This is a team of Long Islanders, many of whom are from Manhasset, and their presence has brought a new level of excitement to the league. The NYC guys are thrilled to have a great new team to play against, and appreciate the fact that the guys come all the way from out on the Island to play with us.

LAS was led by Joe Barile, Grahamn Gnall, and Alex Boches on offense, while Whit Harrison had another good day in net, making over 15 saves. It was a back and forth game with some nice goals, big hits, and a good competitive flow.

Earlier in the day we saw another good game as the Brooklyn Dodgers took on the Gotham Goats. Gotham showed up with purple and black long sleeve jerseys, and when coupled with LAS’ uniforms, we now have 50% of the league in appropriate jerseys. We’re getting there…

The Brooklyn – Goats game had the Goats coming out on top by a good margin. Gotham got nice production and play from Matt Witko, Ryan Molloy, CJ Greene, Pete Sayia, Mark Powers and Brian Ray, while Brooklyn was led by Chris Tiernan, Drew Gieger, Matthew Denis and Rudy Martinez. Tim Condus was tough again in goal for the Dodgers.

Week three sees Tokyo-Mitsubishi (2-0) matched up with with the Gotham Goats (1-1) for what should be an excellent game. LaxAllStars.com (1-1) takes on the Brooklyn Dodgers (0-2) in the first game between these two squads since last year’s championship game, as LAS tries to get back to its winning ways and Brooklyn looks to snap its two game skid.
