TBT: First Ever Episode of Inside The MLL

Welcome to Throwback Thursday, or TBT! Today we look back on Inside The MLL. It’s a show, and I bet you’ve watched it.

Back in 2008, the Philadelphia Barrage were returning to defend their 2007 Major League Lacrosse crown, but were without a home. This was also the first time we saw the Inside The MLL show pop up, and it’s been with us ever since. In honor of tonight’s Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game, which is at 7:30pm ET, and will be broadcast on CBS Sports, we have dug up the first ever episode of Inside The MLL, all for your viewing pleasure.

How things have changed in only six short years!

Inside The MLL Episode 1

Well, some things have changed. Sure, Mikey Powell is no longer in the league, but he’s still a rock star. The Barrage no longer exist, and Philly doesn’t have a team, but a lot of those championship names and faces (like Kyle Sweeney, Ryan Boyle, Matt Striebel, and Brian Spallina) are still playing in the league.

The Ohio Machine no longer wear red and white as their primary colors, but they do still exist, and they’re starting to see some success. Nicky Polanco’s interview is pretty funny, especially when he rips on Blake Miller for not having a day job. I guess that’s funny, but I’m just jealous!

Speaking of Ohio, it’s funny to see Kyle Harrison playing for a team in California. And then think that Kyle started his own team in California. Clearly that’s going to happen again, it’s only a question of time, and this reminds us of that pretty nicely.

The Rochester Rattlers are also in this video, and it’s good to see them back. Love that they kept the exact same uniforms. It’s also a known fact that the LA Riptide uniforms were the best in the history of the league. That’s just general knowledge.
