SoCal Lacrosse Family Raises Money, Awareness at Aaron Loy Lacrosse Shootout
The Southern California lacrosse family came together last Saturday at La Costa Canyon High School in San Diego for the Aaron Loy Lacrosse Shootout. Loy, a freshman lacrosse player at UCSB and 2013 graduate of La Costa Canyon, fell ill with Neisseria (bacterial) meningitis in November, and had his feet amputated in order to save his life after complications. The tournament, which featured 10 games with over 300 players ranging from 5th Grade to Grandmasters (40 plus), was organized by the La Costa Canyon lacrosse community in support of Loy and his family.

The country's best collegiate club lacrosse teams will descend on Orange County in a little more than two weeks, when the MCLA holds its 2014 National Championships Tournament at UC Irvine and Chapman University.
One-Goal Thriller Ends in Grand Valley State’s First National Championship
In a back-and-forth game on a beautiful day in Orange County, Calif., the No. 1 Grand Valley State Lakers captured their first MCLA Division II national championship with a 12-11 win over No. 2 St. John's. The Lakers and Johnnies both had appeared in but never won a championship game before today, with GVSU falling in the 2012 and 2008 finals and St. John's dropping the 2007 final.
