2022 MCLA National Championships Preview: Division 1

The 2022 MCLA National Championships are officially underway! The tournament takes place from May 9-14 in Round Rock, Texas. Let’s take a look at the Division 1 tournament teams heading into the first round of action.

If South Carolina can repeat championship runs, they will be the first to repeat MCLA National Champions since Colorado State (2012-2013). 10 of the 16 teams were in the 2019 National Tournament and four of the top five seeds this year lost in the first round of the 2019 Tournament. Brigham Young, Grand Canyon, South Carolina, and Michigan State are the only teams in it to win the MCLA Tournament (does not include pre-2005 championships). This is first tournament in Texas since 2008.
