412’s Roster Reactions:
Who is going to run on the first midfield line?
We believed the first midfield line was going to be Walters, Rabil, and Dixon, probably the most athletic, biggest midfield unit OF ALL TIME. Funny thing happened along the way to the market, Walters wasn’t selected throwing everything out of wack including the balance of the second midfield line. The first line should be Rabil, Dixon, Seibald. The second line should be Crotty, Seibald, Peyser.
How much playing time does Paul Rabil get?
In the finals against Canada, Rabil should be running every 2 out of 3 possessions, possibly 3 of every 4. Brodie Merril can not cover him. Should we lose to Canada again we have to go down swinging and this means with Rabil starting with the ball. His load in the preliminary games should be lighter to keep his legs as fresh as possible to play 30-40 minutes against Canada.

Participants: Head Coach Mike Pressler and Attackman Ryan
- … Third question is directed at Pressler. How much of this selection process was based on, “how do we stop Canada?” Pressler says its very much a fair question. “We are the underdogs.”
- Next question is directed at
Powell . Is this team better equipped than 2006?Powell says the teams are completely different and “it’s up to us to take that next step” now that the selection process is over.Powell was then asked if he is a different player than he was in 2006 to which he replied I don’t know.- Next question was about Pressler’s expectations. He says everyone has to accept the roles the coaches give them. Praises the veterans, Boyle,
Powell , McClay etc. Also suggests there’s a youth movement with Crotty, Rabil, Peyser, Seibald, etc. Says the common denominator is their selflessness. Reiterates the underdog mentality.- We (412 Lax) asked if
Powell will be playing in the MLL in the summer to prepare for the World Games. He said he hasn’t ruled it out.…For a moment I was worried that we revealed our roster too early, that Canada would now be able to pick their roster as a reaction to our roster. And, they very well may. Do I think Pressler was worried about? Absolutely not. But I think it sends the message to Canada that says we may be the underdog but we’re not hiding anything.
This is our team that was selected to beat Canada. Now we have to wait until July 2010 for the answers.
